Yes, life is a scary unpredictable endeavor...

That's why joyless people who believe in leftist ideologies seek govt control as a means of trying to create guarantees and safeguards against those circumstances they fear.
Trying to control others does nothing in the way of making oneself happy. By extension, voting in this mindset so that government can try to control others will also – shocking – not lead to a happier, more comfortable life.
The conservative (moderate, independent, but for the sake of expediency, conservative), on the other hand, relies on himself to meet his own needs. And the tradeoff for being free to live his life as he wishes is understanding that he has to make peace with how you live yours.
By extension, aware that he wants to be able to hold onto this liberty and freedom forever, the conservative votes accordingly, so that everyone can remain free and in charge of his or her own life.
The conservative understands that not only is it a waste of time to try to control you, but it’s also actually impossible. Humans were born to be free. And if we put a roadblock in front of you, you’ll find another way around it.
So, we see attempts at control as a waste of resources, energy and time at best, and at worst, creating detrimental results that serve to hinder people’s upward mobility or teach dependence.
We see much more efficiency, as well as endless opportunity, in leaving you to your own devices. And we want the same in return.
The conservative believes man is born free and will be who he is, no matter what arbitrary limitations or rules are put on him.
The leftist believes man is perfectible, and by extension, believes a society at large is perfectible, and command and control is justified in the quest to a “perfect” utopian society.
The leftist believes the system must be perfected in order to enable success. Therefore, disappointment is channeled as anger and blame at the system. Voids are left to be filled by faith in the govt, which they surely then want to come in and “fix” things.
And therein lies the roots of love and fear respectively...
For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he knows he has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance.
For the modern leftist, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve.
In the mind of a modern leftist, groomed in an era of sympathy for their feelings, happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.
One blames himself. The other blames anyone and everyone but himself.
And there it is.... That's exactly where the anger, bitterness, rage and meanness come from.
The leftist ideology causes that person to cast anger at the world when things go wrong or appear “unfair.”

She constantly chooses only to see the “injustices” – and that makes for a very miserable, mean, blame-casting existence.

Quebec City Canada Officially Proclaims, The Peasants are Revolting
It really does seem like something out of a modern-day Monty Python skit.
Officials in the city of Quebec City, Canada were fearful the pesky unwashed peasants might make their way to the parliament buildings, so they blocked the passages and sent guards to ensure no one could traverse the ramparts.

(1) The "what?" part is that today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aligned himself with The Club. McConnell, Haley, Pence, Noem and DeSantis all part of the cocktail donor group, the R-Club, the right wing of the uniparty.

Timing matters....
(2) Timing matters because this is the year when the RNC, the mechanism of the R-Club, meets after the mid-term election and establishes the rules for the 2024 presidential election.

Most casual political observers do not follow closely.
(3) As a result, before the winter 2022 meeting of the rules, the political alignments of the individual members who will position to use the Club must be determined.

Each candidate makes their choice this year.

(1) @erinotoole, please accept this counter thread with the spirit of its intent.

There comes a time when you need to channel the raw frustration of your constituents – put them into articulate voice and focus – not pontificate about their delicate humanism in your arguments.
(2) @erinotoole The working class Canadian people are angry, very ANGRY. Your downplaying of their valid and justified sense of anger, is akin to a dismissal of very valid grievance, not just against Trudeau, but also against YOU.
(3) @erinotoole, What the hell kind nonsense is this? A concern about tone, sensibilities, portrayals?

If your goal was to miss the moment, skip the point, talk as if the media was YOUR audience, & put on a performance focused on the irrelevant; then, mission accomplished.

(1) Remember me asking why the Port of Los Angeles was not updating their December CARGO results?

Remember me asking about why this unusual delay?
(2) The BEA released their fourth quarter GDP data today.…
(3) A few hours later, again today, the Port of Los Angeles finally released their December totals.…

Think about what you just wrote here @CBS_Herridge !

The OIG had these phones for how many years, & only just NOW tells Durham?

What does that tell you about intents and purposes of the OIG office itself?

The entire system is about institutional preservation. OIG is in on it.
The DOJ/FBI are a corrupt and rusted political apparatus, used as offensive weapons against any entity who would challenge the interests of the Deep State.

That reality must be kept hidden from the American people.

Bill Barr was the Bondo. John Durham is the spray paint.
The current heads of the Biden DOJ and FBI would never allow Durham to continue if they thought for a minute the DC institutional credibility would be compromised as an outcome.

In many ways Durham is like the corrupt OIG, vacuuming up stray bits that might lead to questions.

Want to understand the dynamic?...

♦ One man standing against Tyranny brings Americans to their feet in support.

♦ One man standing against Tyranny in Australia immediately triggers the crabs in the bucket…

That's the difference between a Republic and a pure Democracy.
The government did not hide their reasoning, as immigration minister Alex Hawke said getting Djokovic out of the country was “fundamental to safe-guarding Australia’s *social cohesion* which continues to strengthen despite the pandemic.”…
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison echoed the Hawke sentiment saying forcing Novak Djokovic out of the country quickly was a matter of “public interest “, because his continued presence would destabilize the government.
