With ongoing Digital transformation projects, more & more Cos trying to own their Customer relationship and changes in data privacy landscape, both Communication & Engagement products could have plenty of runway.
For anyone new, this gives a good view of what they are doing and where they are trying to go with the whole Customer Engagement Platform on top of their Communications platform.
Some comments from Khozema Shipchandler (COO) on strategy and guidance.
Just like $TDOC, $TWLO is in the right place at the right time, with a leadership position in a Market with big opportunity over the next decade
BUT a lot depends on
-how well they grow their Core while evolving it
-how well they integrate their acquisitions
-how well they retain their executive & engineering talent
-how well they execute overall balancing between growth and path to profitability
Of course structurally the GM% here is not as good as pure SaaS, but if there's high volume of GM $ that can be used to develop/execute on their SW products (Flex, Segment, Engage, Frontline...) while increasing their overall leadership and stickiness, it's a good place to be in.
Overall a solid Company that I want in my Portfolio for a long time, but how well they execute on the Customer Engagement products and whether the margin improvements are coming along as promised needs to be monitored.
