Here’s my recap and takeaway with with lots of pics and vids that you’ll enjoy!🧵👇🏽 1/18
2/Everything was very well organized, registration a day before, a cool welcome kit and a great location with The Kalahari Resort 🦏
3/First day on monday, I attended the @RiotBlockchain tour, and seeing the biggest farm in North America inspired me a lot. 150 people witnesses the humility from David, Ashton, @chadeverett, and Lyle while sending the message that everything is possible and believing is key!
4/The highlight of the tour was to meet Luis, the Electrical Engineer in charge, and learning he’s Venezuelan.
It made me so proud that he’s being part of the most important #bitcoinmining project around.
5/Then, back to the convention center we got to be welcomed by @Dennis_Porter_ and a packed main auditorium! Beautifully set by the way…
6/The opening keynote was from @jpbaric. We got to learn about his origin, his facilities and great lessons on building teams of real owners and focusing on incentives.
We also learned that TikTok content needs to focus on what is remarkable about mining (sound, heat, value) 👍🏽
7/After that, we got to hang out, have a welcome drink, play some corn hole (I humiliated you @OGBTC), bowling and enjoy some appetizers 🍔🍗
Great time, great friends
8/On Tuesday, the stage was set for the panel I was a part of. We had a great session with @max_gagliardi and Chris Yurko talking about 💩, the other renewable.
Great questions, great interaction and many people stayed after to follow up on @biomining
Thank you all guys!!!
9/I also attended the Chip Development Panel and learn what the considerations will be for the future of immersed and hydro. And the implications of the chip shortages on Bitcoin mining and what to expect.
We’re still a small industry for chip manufacturers.
10/At lunch time, I had the chance to walk through the exhibition floor.
Observing closely mining containers, immersed cooling vendors, my friends at @foremanmining was a great experience.
11/Then @saylor was brilliant with his virtual keynote.
His thoughts on mining were very objective.
He mentioned that if he was a miner, he would raise a lot of capital, and buy bitcoin with 75% of it, and do mining with the other 25%😅
12/After that, another Venezuelan, @bitpetro made talked us about property ownership and mineral rights in real terms and how those services are key for the future of digital property with Bitcoin.
He shared the phrase “Not your gas, not your #bitcoin”
14/I had the chance to learn about capital markets and procurement aspects by listening to the tips by great people like @Nathannichols from Rhodium 👇🏽
15/I also got to attend to a couple more talks, like the one with @GoingParabolic and @max_gagliardi about mining on wasted tires, or the technical block construction and nonce-finding talk by @D_plus__plus where she gave some satoshis rewards!
(No picture but you were amazing)
15/Together with all of this, I had the wonderful chance to record 3 different podcast episodes IN SPANISH for @mineriapodcast on the impact of mining around Latin America.
