10 Resources Why You Should Create Online Courses?
This is a thread explaining my experience creating online courses for @pluralsight and why I believe everyone should do so

@pluralsight 1) You fulfill a purpose: If you are doing ordinary IT jobs, the chances are high that you are losing motivation and energy as you get used to what you are doing. Teaching is different. The more you see the impact of your efforts community, the more inspiration and energy.
@pluralsight 2) You get exposure: Online teaching will move you from your own cave to become a well-known expert under the light. You'll get job offers on the fly, get conference talks invitations, and even opportunities to write guest blog posts.
@pluralsight 3) You earn: Your online teaching efforts are highly rewarded if you know what you are doing. That is to teach the right material to the right people in the right way. Some online teachers make millions of dollars per year.

@pluralsight 4) You learn: A Chinese wisdom says, "To teach is to learn twice." There is a big misconception among IT professionals: teaching is a waste of time. This is complete nonsense. Teaching will force you to master technologies in and out and refresh your knowledge.
@pluralsight 5) You increase your standard: To deliver good teaching material, you'll need to aggressively scrutinize your content, review your code samples, improve your speaking skills and read the latest technologies. My personal growth has skyrocketed since I started teaching.
@pluralsight 6) You get top-notch community: If you manage to join well-known teaching platforms such as Pluralsight, Udemy, and many others. You'll find yourself surrounded by similar yet different people. These people will be your first stop for help, advice, and business opportunities.
@pluralsight 7) You develop new tech skills: Creating professional online courses requires recording, video/audio editing skills, and PowerPoint skills (believe me, not what you used to do in school). You'll even learn to compare different professional cameras and microphones :)
@pluralsight 8) You develop soft skills: Surprisingly, the essential skills of a successful teacher are non-technical. You'll need to articulate, elaborate, know when to zoom in and zoom out your explanation, balance theory and practice, and most importantly, be energetic and engaging!
@pluralsight 9) You get more confidence: A was frightened when I created my first Pluralsight course. I wondered what it feels like to make a course on a famous platform used by thousands. Believe it or not, my first course managed to be in the top 5% for more than two years!
@pluralsight 10) You open your horizons: As IT professionals, we are buried in our ego-centric world. When you want to productize your knowledge, you have to learn about product creation, pricing, sales/marketing, and many other skills outside your comfort zone.
