What is your stand on letting convicts or those with pending cases seek public office?

Former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista: Hangga't walang final conviction, pwede siya kumandidato. I adhere to that. May freedom ang taong piliin kung sino ang gusto nila iboto.

Former Makati Rep. Monsour del Rosario says voters should be more discerning when checking the background of candidates running for public office.

Del Rosario: For me, kung may kaunting shame ka, ayusin mo muna yan, but until proven guilty, the Constitution allows you to run, but maybe we can change that. I think it's best na until you're cleared of your cases, then you can run, but we have to follow the Constitution.

Former QC Councilor Jopet Sison: Sabi nga sa due process, kailangan may final decision of the court. Kung pending case lang siya, he's still qualified to run for public office. Hindi naman pwedeng may nagsampa lang ng kaso, idi-disqualify na natin.

How do you propose to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices?

Sison: Hindi natin maco-control ang dikta ng presyo sa mundo, pero maaari natin ipataw ang regulations sa pag-control ng presyo. Nandiyan ang Dept. of Energy para mabantayan yan.

Sison: Sa aming partido, unang una yan sa naging plataporma ni Isko Moreno, 50% tax cut on oil, 50% tax cut on electricity. Mabawasan ang kita ng gobyerno para ang tao ang makinabang

Bautista on cushioning the impact of rising fuel prices: Sa batas kasi, pagdating ng ₱80-₱85/liter, nat-trigger na huminto yun. Siguro masyado pang mataas yun. Pwede natin ibaba yun to ₱70 para yun na price control natin

Del Rosario on cushioning the impact of oil prices: Short-term solutions - govt should subsidize oil for jeepney drivers until we can recover. Long term, I think govt should invest more on biofuel and solar energy

How do you plan to help the PH entertainment industry recover from crisis?

Del Rosario: Instead of live shows competing with each other, it's best they should not simultaneously hold events on the same day and observe health protocols.

Del Rosario, a former actor, suggests giving tax breaks from those in the entertainment industry: They've been out of the job for almost two years and they're trying to regain and get their momentum going.

Sison says helping the live entertainment industry means helping healthcare systems first: Kailangan bigyan ng pansin ang problema sa kalusugan, pagtayo ng ospitals, make RT-PCR and antigen available. Hanggang may access ang mga mamamayan sa medicines, mawawala ang takot

How do you plan to help the PH entertainment industry recover from crisis?

Bautista, a former comedian, gives his take: Dapat bigyan sila ng mababang buwis or wala munang babayaran sa mga bars at comedy/jazz clubs.

Bautista hopes the Creative Industries Bill will be signed into law to help the entertainment industry recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How can you make mental health programs accessible to the poor?

Bautista: Dapat itaas yung pondo nila kasi talagang ang mental health ang source niyan, either mag-drugs yan o baka magpakamatay yan.

Bautista also says salary of mental health professionals should be raised considering that many of them migrate due to low pay.

Del Rosario: Most of our professional health workers are leaving the country. If we can increase their salaries, kahit papaano madikit sa US or Europe, maybe they can stay here and take care of our people.

Sison: Kailangan dagdagan ang pondo and kasama sa programa natin, to build more healthcare centers.

Sison bats for additional funds to build more hospitals and healthcare centers: Ang ating target, 107,000 more hospital beds in the first 1,000 days of the governance of our party.

Will you support a divorce law?

Sison: I am in favor of divorce. Tatlong dekada na kami nagbibigay ng libreng payong ligal sa aming programa. Hindi nila alam kung ano ang kaibahan ng legal separation, annulment, divorce.

Sison: I've seen couples living apart for several years already, but they're still married. Wag nating (gawing) masyadong mahal para makakuha ng declaration of nullity.

Sison: The success of a marriage will not be so dahil pinagbabawal ang divorce. Magiging successful dahil sa kanilang samahan

Will you support a divorce law?

Bautista: Isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit kailangan natin ng divorce is kahit annulment lang, wala talagang nakukuha ang babae. Hindi klaro. So para protektahan ang kababaihan, yung nanay at anak, pag-aralan natin nang mabuti (ang divorce bill)

Bautista on divorce bill: Ang priority is to save the family, pero kung hindi na talaga kaya, let's favor the women na maaapektuhan.

Will you support a divorce law?

Del Rosario: I come from a very bad, broken home and before my mother died, she told me in case you become a lawmaker, please agree with a divorce law and push that.

Del Rosario: I am in favor of it because why would you force two people to stay together when there's no more trust, hope, and peace in the family.

Del Rosario: I made 292 bills and resolutions that surpasses many congressmen who have different positions. (1/2)

Del Rosario: I also passed the Work-From-Home Law. Many people are surviving in this pandemic because of this law. (2/2)

Del Rosario: I was sent to be a sports leader against 69 countries and the PH record in this competition from the beginning up to 2017 was five medals. As a sports leader, I came home with 30 medals. Nobody has ever done that.

Del Rosario: The third proudest I have is I became the first Filipino in the world to be inducted in the hall of fame in the World Taekwondo Federation in Seoul, South Korea.

Sison: For Quezon City, naging brgy. kagawad ako ng tatlong taon. I served in the lowest government. (1/2)

Sison: As a councilor, anim na taon ako naging konsehal, 270 approved ordinances and resolutions, kasama yung kauna-unahang QC tricycle franchising ordinance (2/2)

Sison also mentions other previously held positions: Naging assistant general manager ako ng NHA at naging presidente ako ng National Home Mortgage Finance Corp., where we were able to issue the very first bahay bonds of the country

Sison on his priority legislation: My priority would be the priority of the party. We have a 10-point economic agenda na pangako naming gagawin. Maaari niyo pong basahin yan sa aming web pages

Sison adds: Personally, gusto kong pagtuunan ng pansin ang problema ng pabahay sa ating bansa... Ang target natin ay 900,000 to 1 million housing units in the six years of the next administration

Bautista gives an acronym for his priority legislation, "ILY" for internet, livelihood and youth development

Bautista: I think we should further deregulate wifi natin o yung providers natin. For livelihood, let's invite foreign investors to come in with more incentives.

Bautista: For example, mining, kausap ko yung mga nasa left, they're for mining pero dapat dito rin pinoprocess. That would provide opportunities for jobs.

Bautista adds: Agriculture. Yung RCEP medyo delikado, pero kailangan pangalagaan ang mga magsasaka, ating mangingisda, at saka empleyado kasi hindi pinag-usapan sa RCEP yun.

Bautista: Makikita natin 90% ang tariff kung mawawala, good enough yung listahan na kailangan protektahan andoon pa rin pero unti-unting mawawala yan so habang andiyan, protektahan through subsidies

Del Rosario says his priority legislation if elected senator is the passage of the "Healthcare Heroes Card" Law: It will allow all PRC medical license practitioners to avail the same benefits and privileges of PWDs and seniors.

Del Rosario adds he intends to boost medical services for children with special needs such as establishing regional institutions and providing more doctors catered to them

Del Rosario, a former taekwondo champion and Olympian, says he will also develop grassroots programs in sports and give more support to retired and sick athletes.
