2/ We get the typical rhetoric designed to anger the paper's readers, RW love enemies and the point of this is to make Education workers the enemy, deliberate long term strategy
"Brain washing"
"Worrying race theories"
"Education not indoctrination"
3/ What actually happened?
A class watched an episode of Newsround, afterwards some students asked if they could write to their MP with their opinion
The MPs had a melt down that children were expressing a negative opinion of Johnson and went to the papers and @nadhimzahawi
4/ Watching Newsround is indoctrination, there seems to be an assumption here that a child must have been indoctrinated to form a negative view of this government
Point of this story besides turning education into an enemy is to justify new government guidence
5/ They did exactly the same when they released their RSE guidence
Considering RSE is supposed to be relationship and sex education, it all seemed to be about protecting capitalism and confusing anti racism with marxism
8/ Attacks on education workers serve multiple purposes, its about delegitamising views of frontline workers, we see the same with attacks on NHS workers
Opposition to a mass infection strategy can be dismissed as playing politics
10/ Spend a decade fighting against impacts of gov policy on disadvantaged and SEND students and get accuse of playing politics by the same people who then pretend to care about these students as they argue against protecting them from infection
11/ They did the same with opposition to academisation "The Blob are playing politics" they claimed as they handed control of whole chains of schools to Tory Peers, Donors, venture capitalists and hedge fund managers
12/ Culture wars are cheaper than investing in education, just throw around rhetoric, stamp down on 'activists' and win brownie points with RW rags
What we see if is the kind of language heading in the direction of calling outright for a purge
Cancel culture enit
13/ However we do get the government pushing for more "patriotism"
Tory MPs calling for flags in classrooms, singing the national anthem, pictures of the Queen
Heard them say
"Children need to learn to love their country"
Problem is they confused country with gov,gov with party
14/ "Don't do down Britain" = lack of patriotism
But surely true patriotism is appreciating the countries untapped potential and always wanting better
15/ I do remember the DfE promoting the "One Nation, One Britain" song and organisation
16/ Turns out its an organisation to push a nationalistic agenda set up by Tories
So pushing a political agenda in schools is fine as long as its one endorsed by the party, still political
17/ What does protecting free speech and fighting indoctrination look like from this government
2019 General Election the Tories tried to shut down the SchoolCuts website, the website broke down the impact of Gov funding proposals on indivual schools, IFS confirmed the figures
18/ MPs tried to get the site shut down, they then accused education workers of playing politics in the RW press, gave their own stats
UK Statistics Authority told thr Tories their own use of stats was misleading and should stop being used
Tories set up their own SchoolCuts site
19/ Which repeated the stats UKSA said shouldn't be used. MPs then told constituents schoolcuts was fake news while directing ppl to their own dodgy site
Shut down, smear and lie, that's what they did and will continue to do
Koch and Thiel funded culture wars in the US and have brought them to the UK
@OliverDowden is deeply unpatriotic, can wave his flags as much as he likes but truth is he's manufacturing division for the benefit of foreign interests
2/ Then the pile on begins with the offer of a debate, but hosted and moderated by Prasad, not exactly a fair neutral when he's also been involved with Bhattacharya and Brownstone
"Hey want to play on an unequal playing field"
3/Worth bearing in mind that the offer was made for a town hall where Bhattacharya could answer to the student body, however despite his large international profile, Bhattacharya and his minions feel the need to set their own terms, looks like cowardice
