1. A journalist has FOIAed some docs about the GRU's hack of the DNC's computer systems. This is entirely distinct from
2. The story about DNS lookups on a server connecting Trump and Alfa bank (no claims of hacking). An obscure story with little electoral significance.

3. A further obscure story about the use of Russian cellphones of a particular kind, very few of which were in use.
These stories can't be coherently put together to form a plot by the DNC to smear Trump and win the election.

In the Uranium One "scandal" concerning the Clinton's two different cases were deliberately merged. One (a case in Maryland) that involved a guy called Mark Lambert accused of trying to bribe Vadim Mikerin of TENEX to get Russian contracts for transporting nuclear fuels...
And two, the completely unrelated case concerning the takeover of Canadian firm Uranium One by Rosatom, a deal which Steve Bannon's friend, Peter Schweitzer (boosted by the NYT), claimed had involved bribing the Clintons.

they were one and the same, including by Louis Gohmert on the floor of the Senate. And sadly, very few people were keeping the facts straight.
We shouldn't let the GOP obfuscate in this way again. So when well-educated journalists with large platforms repeat the "hoax" claims

without straightening out those separate stories, or indicating that the GOP has manufactured a deliberately confusing narrative, I hope people will call them out this time. THE HACKING, THE SERVER, THE PHONES: DIFFERENT STORIES. Involving different personnel. But the Daily Mail
combines them all into this nonsense: "Ratcliffe told Durham, sources told Fox News, that the indictments could be connected to Clinton's lawyers hacking Trump's servers to try and fabricate ties to his campaign and the Kremlin in order to distract from her own email scandal."
