I believe Caroline Flack was treated differently, as initially the CPS said caution for Domestic Assault, Met appealed.

Yes, much more care should have be given, but know a prosecution would've been pursued hard from outset by CPS on a non celebrity.

Caroline Flack's death raises a lot of questions about prosecution in the UK

If an accused's mental health is raised, it's turned on them as trying to get away with it. They get no support.

Had this been a man accused of Domestic assault, would the reaction be the same?
People may find this uncomfortable, but had a male celebrity been accused of assaulting their partner, you can guarantee there'd be demands for prosecution & any mention of the accused's mental health would be ignored.

I say this as an ex offender AND victim of Domestic abuse.
To be clear, I believe until a conviction is obtained, the accused should have a degree of protection. See Germany for an example.

Criminal proceedings can ruin lives, even if someone is found not guilty.

Something needs to change whilst still ensuring justice is served.
The Mental Health of an accused person is rarely taken into account in the UK justice system unless it is part of a defence. Even then, people & the media almost certainly say 'it's a ploy to get off'.

We need reform so victims AND the accused get fair treatment & justice.
In my experience, Police in Scotland do a lot to proceed Domestic Abuse cases to charging.

It's a complex situation as victims msy change their mind on pursuing a case. In Scotland, Police can go ahead regardless.

There are programs here for offenders which are working though.
To fight Domestic Violence, we need to rehabilitate & reform offenders so they pass it on through generations.

Simply jailing someone & then not addressing the behaviour, is a failure.

Of course this requires money, but I'd rather a government spent more to reduce DV

Covid hits hard. Fuck this ain't no flu
Huge thanks to the @NHSHighland staff at Raigmore A&E for looking after me last night.

They took great care infection control wise whilst delivering top class care.

Home now & will receive antiviral treatment as I'm in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable group.
Don't worry, nothing major. Heart has slight inflammation and I was a bit dehydrated leading to an elevated pulse. Chest xray was a bit cloudy too.

Had IV fluids & some IV medications which helped settle me down enough to get home, which is safer for me ultimately.

Mason Greenwood arrested.

"@gmpolice were made aware earlier today of online social media images & videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence. Following enquiries we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape & assault."
As the case is now live, please ensure you are careful on what you tweet about the case so as not to prejudice any future action(s).

It is important the victim achieves justice.

Manchester United have suspended Mason Greenwood.
Now that the victim had made clear via ger father she did NOT wish this to become public knowledge, the best practice for all who have named her would be to delete those references ASAP.

Victims of sexual crimes are entitled to anonymity unless the willingly waive it.
