LQR goes to visit his nephew for the first time since Wangji moved to a new city. It's meant to be a surprise, LWJ is not expecting him, but LQR knows where he lives, and surely he can get there. Except his phone dies the moment he arrives in the city. #MXTXReverseTropeFest

He should never have listened to his nephews when they told him to store all his information in that unreliable device! He should've written Wangji's address on the appointment book he's been using for the past 5 years until he let himself be convinced technology was trustworthy.

Now he only has a vague idea of where to go, but no way to get there. Well.

He starts walking.

He's been walking for 15 minutes someone bumps into his shoulder from behind, nearly bringing LQR and his bag to the ground.

"I'm so, so sorry!" the boy says. He's around LWJ's age, but... messier. "I didn't see xiansheng there, it's just that I'm about to miss-" his eyes widen as a bus goes by them, then she shrugs and smiles back at LQR. "Well, never mind. Did i hurt you?"

"You did not," LQR tells him. He's old, not made of glass. "I am fine." He's about to dismiss the young man when he speaks again.

"Is xiansheng going somewhere close? If you need help I can carry your bags. I just gotta send a message first."

And that's how LQR ends up sharing a didi with the young man, WWX, since they are apparently heading the same way.

His first instinct had been to refuse, but not being prideful is one of the principles he was raised and raised his nephews on.

This does not mean he doesn't want to stop the car immediately when he realized the boy is going to talk the Whole Time. He tells LQR about his boyfriend, who he's heading to see, and who is apparently the most perfect human being on earth judging by all the praise.

LQR wants to scold this boy for being excessive and displaying all these emotions. Surely, no one is that perfect. But WWX *is* helping him so it feels wrong to berate him.

When they arrive at WWX's boyfriend's building, he tells LQR to come up so he can charge his phone

It's hard to refuse when WWX is holding his bag hostage, so LRQ follows him.

They take the elevator to the 5th floor and come to a stop at the first door to the right.

Instead of knocking, WWX loudly proclaims: Honey, I'm home~

LQR is deeply embarrassed to be seen with him.

And his mortification furthers even more when the door opens to reveal none other than Wangji inside.

"Uncle?"

WWX looks between their shocked faces, then turns back to LWJ.

"Ah, great! You know each other. Was gonna ask if we could keep him."

"Mn, I think we have to."

LQR forbids WWX from telling the story at the wedding.
