The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, also known as the SPY ETF, is one of the most popular funds that aims to track the Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 index, which comprises 500 large-cap and midcap U.S. stocks.
SPY was the first index exchange-traded fund (ETF) and fully replicates the index at a price target of 10% of the S&P 500.
Its top 10 holdings are heavily weighted in tech companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. Approximately 1/4 of the SPY is invested in the tech sector.
The S&P 500 serves as one of the main benchmarks of the U.S. equity market and indicates the financial health and stability of the economy.
The SPY is a well-diversified basket of assets, which allocates its holdings across multiple sectors, the top five listed below as of January 2022:

📚Options Basics: A Quick Rundown on Option Contracts (Thread) @unusual_whales
There are two types of options, a call option and a put option. Understanding what each of these is and how they work will help you determine when and how to use them.
The buyer of an option pays a premium to the seller of an option for the right, not the obligation, to take delivery of the underlying futures contract (exercise). This financial value is treated as an asset, although eroding, to the option buyer and a liability to the seller.
For simplification:
● Call options allow the holder to buy the asset at a stated price within a specific timeframe.
● Put options allow the holder to sell the asset at a stated price within a specific timeframe.
A lapse in discipline, or just a sustained bleed-out of trading capital, nearly every trader will face a big loss in their career. How to bounce back after a big loss isn't complex.
What is difficult is repairing the mental damage done, especially the damage to
confidence.
The level of confidence, where you see the market for what it is, step in whenever there's an opportunity, cut your losses when it doesn't turn out, and sit on your hands when conditions aren't right, is the confidence that can be lost after a losing streak.
