What @DisinfoLab hasn't mentioned is: Jamaat/ Muslim Aid were working with the ISI for decades. Khaled Latif Mughal at the centre.

In Indonesia, Jamaat financed Jemaah Islamiyah and the Bali bombers network through Muslim Aid(s). The linkages stretch back to the 1980s.

Abu Bakar Ba'asyir's right-hand man Muhammed Hafidz was arrested for providing shelter to the Bali bombers. He was also the point man for Jemaah Islamiyah's covert funding network. In 2000, he travelled to the UK to get funding from Muslim Aid and Jamaat.
@Ageinvestigates was tipped off that Muslim Aid Australia gave money to the Bali bombers network.

Agus Dwikarna, a senior al-Qaeda figure said he got all his money from "Muslim Aid in London".

Jamaat were responsible for nurturing the foreign fighters which became al-Qaeda.

The ISI and former sections of Bangladesh's DGFI ran joint ops against India. This was with full approval from Bangladesh's ultranationalists. Ultras tried to murder their opposition using al-Qaeda affiliates. Caught in assassination and arms trafficking.

There is a lot of historical revisionism happening in Bangladesh. @NetraNews and others are writing about human rights abuses, but failing to mention the unprecedented security situation Bangladesh security forces are facing.

Everything we know about Osama bin Laden, especially his radicalism was distorted. The guy was an evil terrorist, but his close collaborators in Jamaat were pretty moderate on the Islamist spectrum.

Osama paid for election campaigns in Pakistan.

Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev was given money by Jamaat for jihad in Chechnya.
Today, the US and UK continue to support Jamaat-i-Islami. They have allowed think-tanks to launder Jamaat's ties to extremism around the world.

Conflict resolution?

Peeling groups involved in democracy away from jihad could be a good move. However there is little evidence.

This Allen Parrot story about Osama bin Laden being in Iran has been around for years. Former CIA agent Bob Baer always seems to get tied to it too.

Baer was also linked to a proto-dossier on Donald Trump and Russia from Cody Shearer.
