1. Like all cases, it relies on being reported. This issue plagues all case numbers.
2. It requires both primary AND secondary infection being reported.
(Little side note -- you notice there that they admitted that many people may have had covid without being vaccinated and it's minor? Sure seems different from the OMGGGG YOU WILL DIEEEEEEEE story.)
3. Anecdotally, it seems like a lot of people who are reinfected have a vaccine in there somewhere. This would be a lovely report in which to try to quantify that. Alas, here is what the report has to say about percentage of reinfections of vaxed vs unvaxed.
4. Ooh scary numbers! Where is the comparison chart for vax breakthroughs? (That probably wouldn't look so good.) And to the point above--what percentage of those cases overlap?
5. Really? Do we *have* to get a plug in for vaxxes here? Doing that without actually demonstrating that severe illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths are different between vaxed and reinfected seems ..... unsciency.
6. And speaking of unsciency ... is it "waning immunity" or is it incomplete protection against a mutating virus? Because if you look at the actual chart, those little bars before Omicron seem a hell of a lot lower than the waning immunity of the vaxes.
7. And finally, the ultimate reason that this is a worthless report is that here is why it was created. I am *sure* that this was created to try and bolster people into vaxxing.

Finally had the chance to look at the booster data over time I FOIAd along with vax rates and am left with a great big WTF.
A thread with lots of excel screenshots and charts. Are you in for a wild ride? Let's go.
History: I wanted to compare b/t cases from the breakthrough case reports to vax rates over time. So I put in a FOIA request asking for fully vaxed of total population preferably daily, but weekly was ok with booster shots laid out the same way. 2.5 months later, I get an excel.
I asked for fully vaxed % total pop. because everything is so cagey -- x% of eligible population! x% of total population has gotten first shot! It's hard to figure out what the actual vax rate IS. I figured -- it would be easy enough to subtract ineligible populations. Like so:
Washington State has been lying about vaccination rates. Until recently, rates have been far far lower than has been reported.
A thread with proof.
Here's a chart of vax rate data from WA Dept of Health obtained through FOIA. They provided vax rates by total population. I have subtracted ineligible populations as appropriate, using the same source they used for population metrics (OFM population data for 2020).
May 8, K5 reports 43% of eligible population is fully vaxed.
WA DOH data shows that 13.23% of eligible population is fully vaxed.
It's Wednesday! And you know what that means! In the week of April 3 - April 9, Washington State is reporting 4,412 breakthrough cases!
This represents 73% of the total cases found in the epicurve download! Could this mean that WA is actually CURRENT on recording cases? Nahhhh, doubt it.
Although their own little visual shows a pretty big jump from last week's report ....
The prob with @KCPubHealth and @WADeptHealth is that they put all their eggs in the vax basket, to the detriment of everything else. To be fair, they were clearly directed to do so. Yet here was a real opportunity to analyze incoming data, and all they managed to do was lie.
@KCPubHealth@WADeptHealth I was so gobsmacked at the discrepency between FOIA request on vax rates over time and what was disseminated that I actually ASKED them if it was accurate and my reason for asking. I have heard nothing.
HAHAHAH And here we go. King County Outcomes by Vax status.
And for cases.
Once you remove the 467 cases in the 0-4s, you're looking at
54% boosted cases
24% vaxed cases
22% unvaxed cases
And let's be clear. Those 467 positive cases are only CASES. Four of those kids were hospitalized. FOUR. In the past 30 days. Were they hosped WITH Covid? Were they sick kids? We don't know.
Here's a list of awesome businesses in King County to support because they display superior COMMON SENSE in the face of continued vaccine mandates! Please add here as we learn more.
