Just two days before the Prince of Wales tested positive for Covid-19, he hosted an investiture at the Queen's Windsor Castle home.

So, there's definitely a chance he could have passed the virus to Her Majesty...

The likelihood of this happening would depend on when Charles first caught the virus and the window in which he was infectious.

Government guidance says people who have Covid-19 can infect others from around two days before symptoms start and for up to 10 days after.

Charles met the Queen on Tuesday, February 8, and tested positive on the morning of Thursday, February 10.

He had attended a reception for the British Asian Trust in central London the night before & shook hands with a number of people, including Priti Patel and Rishi Sunak.

According to the World Health Organisation, the time from exposure to Covid-19 to the moment the first symptoms appear is on average five to six days but it can range from one to 14 days.

But studies suggest the incubation period for the Omicron variant appears to be shorter...

...at around three to five days.

The Queen could have also contracted the virus from someone else in Windsor Castle, as it is understood a number of cases have been diagnosed among the team there.

Following the news of Charles’ positive test last week, Buckingham Palace said the Queen, who has been triple-jabbed, was showing no symptoms.

But it refused to confirm if she was testing positive or negative, citing medical privacy.

It said she would be closely monitored and added that officials would not give a running commentary on her health.
