1] @CCCZimbabwe President @nelsonchamisa's speech:

"We gathered here today, less than 400 days before the 2023 general elections, 35 or so days before the by-elections. They thought they had dealt us a heavy blow. I warned them, Save left me with a vision of where we are going"
2] @nelsonchamisa:

"They claimed our kraal, & we said stay behind with it, together with your herder, Dhakaboy. You can capture the leaders but can never capture the people. You can even entice some people, but the citizens of Zimbabwe will not tire, until change is realised."
3] @nelsonchamisa:

"We gather here in Highfield where it all began with nationalists. I'm saying to Mugabe, Nkomo, Dabengwa, Tsvangirai, I'm now carrying your work forward and will complete what you had begun. Thank you citizens for keeping the liberation agenda aglow."
4] @nelsonchamisa:

"I'm not a self appointed leader. Leadership comes from the people and is anointed by God. They took our MPs; Harvest House; our red colour; Tsvangirai's children & his grave and we said take them all. @RTsvangirayi is with us following his father's vision."
5] @nelsonchamisa:

"When we started the fight for change, with the likes of Morgan Tsvangirai and Gibson Sibanda, we vowed that before there is total and wholesome change, we won't tire. We honour Tsvangirai. His vision will be realised. We will fix this country in his honour.
6] @nelsonchamisa:

"Citizens of Zimbabwe, this party you've formed, the Yellow Movement has sent shockwaves. This movement will be the vehicle for change. All citizens are welcome. This party is like a maize field. Whoever joins the citizens' field, we will give a plough."
7] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are focused on our vision. We are here to pronounce an emphatic statement for change. They mounted roadblocks, disrupted public transport, blocked us access to national television and you braved all this and came here. Thank you citizens of Zimbabwe"
8] @nelsonchamisa:

"@CCCZimbabwe is not a MDC variation but a new party. Yes we have a history of where we are coming from, but this isn't rebranding. We now raise 1 finger to show Zimbabwe is 1; we are # 1; we are 1 People, with 1 God, with 1 Vision & we won't be divided."
9] @nelsonchamisa:

"I'm troubled by the situation affecting our teachers. They aren't asking for much, but reverting to their USD $540 salaries they enjoyed when @BitiTendai was MoF. Government is responding with violence & dismissals, accusing them of being sent by Chamisa"
10] @nelsonchamisa:

"Chamisa is not the poverty affecting our civil servants. Teachers have a right to demand a better salary and shouldn't succumb to threats. Under our government, we will revert back to the salaries and benefits previously enjoyed by our civil servants."
11] @nelsonchamisa:

"Our government will honour teachers. They are the foundation & guardians of the destiny of any nation. They are the campus of civilisation. Without teachers there are no politicians, cooks nor builders. They must be respected & given back their dignity."
12] @nelsonchamisa:

"We need to give dignity to our security officers. Our war veterans helped liberate us. In my days in Parliament, I always stood for warvets & we represented them for free, under our law firm. Many died without enjoying the independence they fought for."
13] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are declaring that @CCCZimbabwe is the next government of Zimbabwe. CCC also means 'Chimurenga CheZimbabwe Chechina'. I unreservedly agree with the Land Reform, minus the violence. The 4th Chimurenga is about citizens reclaiming power from politicians."
14] @nelsonchamisa:

"The citizens should reclaim their power from the politicians. This will be the 4th & last Chimurenga which will be followed by transformative change that will bring dignity, better wages & wealth. Give me a chance to lead & I will deliver in no time."
15] @nelsonchamisa:

"We gather here to also declare that never again shall elections be rigged in Zimbabwe. There won't be a repeat of 2018. I will lead from the front. If they rig & we declare a shut down, it will manifest. ED stole 2018 elections but has failed to deliver."
16] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are here to also declare that in a new Zimbabwe, there won't be any state sponsored violence. We will digitalize out security systems. ED was claiming there won't be a repeat of what happened in Zambia. I ask him, what then were you doing in Zambia?"
17] @nelsonchamisa:

"Mnangagwa behaves as if he has the prerogative to solely determine who can become president. Who is he to declare I won't be President? I will be the next President whether he likes it or not. The citizens will decide their next President."
18] @nelsonchamisa:

"Yellow has taken over. Power now resides with us the citizens. Whats left is a declaration & inauguration. This is a new political statement & testament. I engaged you in communities on the way forward and you tasked me with forming a new movement & party."
19] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are starting from zero, with the aim of forming the next government. Getting just one councillor & one MP during the incoming by-elections means I've started forming the next government. This will be the beginning. Help us by voting for our candidates"
20] @nelsonchamisa:

"These by-elections were caused by a lack of Leadership. They connived to isolate Chamisa by recalling your MPs & Councillors. They took everything & thought they had left me naked, but now I have new clothes. Help me thank ED for helping birth the new"
21] @nelsonchamisa:

"Don't confuse old MDC-A leadership with the @CCCZimbabwe leadership. Currently we only have an interim leadership. We will come back to you with a constitution and you will elect a new leadership of your choosing. I'm not threatening to dumb my leadership"
22] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are focusing on building the new government & will start with having Councillors & MPs & then Ministers. Even our government will comprise of incorruptible leaders who come from the communities, stay in the communities & represent the citizens."
23] @nelsonchamisa:

"We are moving away from vote buying, by candidates. Leaders won't choose to be leaders. Citizens will choose their own representatives. We want a Citizens' Councillor, Citizens' MP and a Citizens' President."
24] @nelsonchamisa:

"We've commissioned a team of experts to work on the voters roll. We've even been getting warnings from some in government, to pay attention to it. Yellow is everywhere. We've unearthed irregularities & now they are declining their own voters roll."
25] @nelsonchamisa:

"In 2003, Mudede did the same in Kuwadzana & produced a VR with over 8k voters. We went to court to have the VR produced during 1st 20 minutes & that's how we exposed them. We are warning ZEC to remove fake names on the VR & return them where they belong"
26] @nelsonchamisa:

"Our team will ensure ZEC processes comply with the law. If not, we'll pursue legal remedies. If the courts don't assist, we will be our own solution. Citizens, stand ready to yellowrise our streets & ZEC. We want all eligible voters registered for 2023."
27] @nelsonchamisa:

"Some citizens say voting is pointless because they'll be rigging. The biggest rigging is not registering to vote. If the farm is big enough, the baboon won't steal all the yield. We need to win with a huge margin that will overwhelm ZEC's rigging plans."
28] @nelsonchamisa:

"Don't worry about the countryside. Rural areas are now centers of transformation & change. I toured our rural communities and the regime almost had me killed after seeing the response of the citizens there. Yellow has been embraced everywhere."
29] @nelsonchamisa:

"It won't be difficult for us to transform the country. You already know what we did during the GNU with Tsvangirai. We have friends internationally & regionally. You saw our friends and allies in Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, all over the world."
30] @nelsonchamisa:

"The gathering today focused on introducing our by-elections candidates for Harare Province. Soon we shall communicate further on our values & ideology. We are currently still in the process of getting everything in order, through citizens consultations."
31] @nelsonchamisa:

"We will have other candidates campaign launches in Bulawayo, Midlands, Masvingo & all other areas. We are a national party. Thank you for supporting the citizens movement, your movement. Continue spreading the new in all communities. Thank You Zimbabwe."

1. How does ZanuPF even begin to talk of "the legacy of Tsvangirai"?

Tsvangirai's legacy was never about an institution, let alone a party name.

Why would they admit that the MDC "disappeared", when Mnangagwa captured it & offered it to his stooge, @DMwonzora?
2. One is tempted to ask, if ZanuPF is convinced that MDC is dead & buried in the history books, what is @DMwonzora leading now?

Does Mwonzora himself realise that ZanuPF assisted his MDC takeover, knowing fully well, it would "destroy MDC"?

What happens to their dialogue?
3. But anyway, Tsvangirai's legacy was never about a mere party name.

That is why citizens kept identifying with him, even after altering the MDC electoral name, 3 times.

Tsvangirai's legacy remains 'pursuing a democratic change of government, to win Zimbabwe for change'.

1] Politicians are strange human beings.

This strategy by the ZanuPF youth league to armtwist the 'Zimdancehall genre industry' into their party commissariat department is self-flattery.

Evidently, this free show-cum-rally will attract thousands yet it could be meaningless.
2] The event will be meaningless because all rational young people are fully aware that ZanuPF has no program aimed at changing their lives.

Heck, ZanuPF hasn't introduced any deliberate policy/program to assist those artists on the poster.
The covid situation made things worse.
3] At the end of the day, for those citizens attending, free shows are for fun. For the artists, shows are just another day at work.

Both will probably get what they came looking for.
As for the organizers, this won't bring any meaningful political dividend.

1] Dr. Magaisa:

"After a nervy period of unsureness & deliberation, the political midwives eventually attended to the arrival of the CCC on the 24th of Jan 2022. That date earned a place in the history of party politics in Zimbabwe when MDC-A underwent a metamorphosis into CCC"
2] Dr Magaisa:

"Those who live through moments of history do not usually grasp their significance. It's those who look back and therefore have the advantage of hindsight, who can appreciate the weight of such moments."
3] Dr Magaisa

"It was like that hard moment of a farmer realising that although he loves his animal so much, the best option because it is broken beyond healing, is to put it to sleep. That way he spares it the excruciating pain and himself, the agony of watching it suffer."

1] When your own lies & propaganda start catching up with you...

Mwonzora claims the 2017 MDC-A Coalition still exists, whose Principals endorsed his Leadership takeover.

So many months later, noone knows who these MDC-A Principals are.

No pictures.
No signed media statements. Image
2] Everything about the political behaviour of this Mwonzora MDC-A, clearly shows its different from the 2017 pre-election agreement.

Both MaKhupe & Prof @Welshman_Ncube were right to say "Mwonzora has formed his own MDC-A"

Simple case in point is the "allocation of seats". ImageImage
3] Mwonzora has claimed that PDP led by Matibenga is responsible for recalling MPs such as Biti, Chikwinya, Madzimure because they were allocated those seats.

Fast forward to 2022, all "MDC-A coalition" by-elections candidates are coming from MDC-T.

How then is it a coalition? Image

1] Here are a few political lessons we've learnt so far:

Firstly, Chamisa always had a plan, completely divorced from what his detractors anticipated.

ZanuPF thought they had armed Mwonzora well enough, to isolate Chamisa & relegate him to the dustbins of our politics.
2] Another key lesson is that the Mwonzora outfit never budgeted for a rival party.

They preferred a scenario where Chamisa would fight for the "MDC" name, thereby maintaining a "legal battle" with him & team.

With the frightening levels of judicial capture, this was preferable
3] Another key lesson is that it was strategic for ex MDC-A MPs & Councillors not to resign en mass but allow the Mwonzora outfit to wield their axe.

Adv Chamisa did well in resisting attemps to initiate such an emotional political move, which many were clamouring for.

1] Been taking time, like most citizens, to encourage fellow citizens to #RegisterToVote2023 as well as encouraging that citizens check their registration status.

Have realised a few challenges being encountered to this regards, as well as some information gap.

a thread.....
2] #WhenDoIregisterToVote

Voter registration is a all year round exercise. ZEC ordinarily has some 63 District offices & 10 Provincial officers allover the country, where one can register to vote.

Baring challenges affecting ZEC, registration itself is a continous exercise.
3] #WhatIsTheBlitzRegistration

This exercise has ZEC introducing "mobile registration" campaigns, meaning that registration centers are brought closer to our homes to compliment their Provincial & District offices.

It's important that all eligible voters take advantage of this.
