How to work with torrent archives of hundreds of gigabytes if your computer is too weak for it?

Create a VM with a Linux server (ex Ubuntu) on one of the cloud hosting services (Google/Yandex Cloud, Azure, DigitalOcean).
1. Create a VM for a couple of days and delete it immediately (and then pay only a few dollars).
2. Use free trial periods and promo codes.

Connect to VM via SSH

Install aria2 (lightweight multi-protocol & multi-source command-line download utilit - aria2.github.io)

Upload file with .torrent extension to your VM (use scp, curl/wget or aria2)

Now you need to start the download, but make sure that it continues after the ssh session is closed. Use Screen (terminal multiplexer)

screen -S torrentdownload
aria2c -T file.torrent.torrent

(if you get a DHT error, try --enable-dht=true)

Then press CTRL+A+D

Now you can disconnect from the server and go about your business. To see how the download is progressing, reconnect via SSH and type the command:

screen -r torrentdownload

And USE ctrl+a+d for exit.
