A woman was killed and 4 other people were shot in a shooting in NE Portland on the 18th. This is the official police statement. The only true thing is the date and location. 
Why did the police use the word homeowner? Is it to invoke castle doctrine and stand your ground rationales for shooting UNARMED traffic monitors? Stand Your Ground is responsible for an 11% increase in homicides. Do the Portland Police support it?

The Portland Police like to blame the increase in gun violence on protests, but gun violence is increasing nationwide - and seems to be linked more to braggadocious vigilantism. More wannabe Rittenhouses.
Portland Police are engaged in a war with the City Council & the Portland public that voted 92% in favor of a Police Accountability Board. They have done their best to sabotage Portland Street Response by not referring calls to them. They are in an illegal work slowdown/stoppage
Neighbors caught a burglar and called the police. The police came and said they can't arrest the burglar because of Obama. A cop told a friend of mine that if there was a call that there was a shooting, he would turn and drive in the opposite direction. A man found his stolen
car being disassembled, called 911 and told them I am here and the car thief is here with my car. I am watching them right now take my car apart. The police refused to come make an arrest.
The Police response to this was the usual Portland Police lies. They claimed they didn't know what happened because people refused to help them. They confiscated the GoPro belonging to one of the victims. It was running when the shooting happened.
Clearly, they had time to watch the video before making their false claim about a confrontation between a homeowner and armed protesters. But, they wanted to frame the narrative from the outset. So they lied.
Every word of this is a lie, not a mistake, a lie. They knew it was false when they said it because they had the GoPro video. But it was grist for the fascist media propaganda they love to generate.
I am not a police abolitionist. I recognize we need police to keep the peace, but we need different police. The public does not have confidence in the police (92% vote was a clear rebuke of Portland Police and they have been doing a slowdown/work stoppage since) I am at the point
where I think every damn one of them should have to reapply for their job.

The truth, a Rittenhouse admirer who is not a homeowner (though it's insane to think that justifies murder) walked up on some women and started shooting. It was unprovoked, he was then wounded/shot by the unicorn-rare "good guy with a gun".
I am curious if the NRA will make a big to-do of the one example of a good guy with a gun stopping a mass shooter. There have been others, but police shot them.
Police waited two days, allowing the false narrative to spread via the media who love an opportunity to slander BLM. This was a BLM protest, not an anti-fascist protest. The protofascist Andy Ngo has doxxed the victims.
And they knew the night it happened exactly what happened because they had the video from one of the victims. Two days of lies to push a narrative protecting a Proud Boys, Nazi-loving murderer. And that is what Portland calls police.
And this is why when I was working and often waited at the bus stop where a mentally ill man would rant and wave his arms and kick at people waiting for the bus, I would go inside the coffeeshop and wait for the next bush rather than call the cops.
This is why when a white woman was screaming at her Black boyfriend in the WinCo parking lot & slamming a grocery cart against his car door when I saw people get out their cell phones to call 911, I hollered "don't call the cops. They will shoot him, not her."
Police will not arrest car thieves in the act of disassembling a car, but they will arrest a Black man for taking a cutting off a rose bush (with my permission.) I swear, sometimes I think they recruit Portland cops from Mississippi.
