Let's try one of these thread things. I have something new to share. It's the outcome of one of the @eCampusOntario funded VLS projects. The idea has been ruminating for years. It came originally from @lpatter10

The idea was to build an @ontarioextend for learners.

@ontarioextend, the original, has the Empowered Educator framework, meant to ready educators to teach in the digital age

This time, we have the Liberated Learner framework. Meant to do likewise for learners themselves

4 modules: Learner, Technologist, Navigator, Collaborator

Taken together, the four modules are designed to prepare learners to be ready for almost anything as they pursue their education.

It's like off-season training for learning.

Ontario Extend, the original was made by educators, for educators.

Again, we do like-wise for learners. Every step of the way was co-designed and developed by the very students themselves that we hope to serve.

For learners. By learners.

See all these "wicked problem" stories?

They were told by 120 students from Ontario and beyond in a design sprint.

These stories then informed the content of the modules, and the activities we designed

Animated module intros were scripted by the student groups on each module team and then made into these adorable videos by the @UWinOpenLearn students Harsh Bhavsar, Trevor Winchester, Patrick Carnevale youtube.com/playlist?list=…

All throughout the #OER, that lack of grammatical errors that you see? A student evaluation strike force made that happen.

English to French translation is in the works, by a team of Students from the @humbercollege French to English Translation Program.

The 7 institution team had the likes of @joanne_kehoe @heathercurrll @DrPatMaher @davecormier @jennihayman @giuliaforsythe @greeneterry @SarahWendorf @MarnieSeal (and more! who don't tweet! like Alex!). We just tried to stay out of the way and support.
