How we use the StoryBrand framework when scripting UGC to create high converting content πŸ‘‡

*Note - this will not work for EVERY piece of content, but will provide a systemised approach to briefing creators.

First, what is the StoryBrand framework....

Appreciate all retweetsπŸ™
Most films use this.

It's what us as humans have become used to, meaning we can easily communicate immediate value and connect with your ideal customers.

It allows us to address exactly what customers are looking for - their needs, their motivations, and their challenges.
The basic framework is as follows - we'll use a weighted blanket as the example:

1. User has a problem (The Villain or Problem).

The "Story Gap" is opened.

They need to address this in order to improve their life or current position.

Weighted blanket example: Insomnia
2. The User discovers a guide.

The guide is something that helps them deal with the villain (or problem) that they are facing.

This is the product/service you are offering.

Example: The Weighted Blanket
3. Who gives them a solution

These are your FABS - Features, Advantages & Benefits.

Example: Blanket gently ads pressure evenly across the body to help increase serotonin & dopamine and stimulate melatonin production. Made to bring on a deep sleep.
4. And calls them to action.

Here you ask your user to take action, what is the ONE thing you want them to do? Make it clear.

Don't beat around the bush.

Example: Buy the weighted blanket and use it every night.
5. That ends in success.

What is the desired state that your product or service helps them reach?

Remind them of their happy ending and why they need to choose you.

Example: Consistent, better quality sleep resulting in improved mental and physical health.
6. And helps them avoid failure.

At this point, reinforce to the user what will happen if they DON'T chose your business as the guide.

It raises the stakes and builds further desire to take action.

Example: They continue to struggle with sleep, tiredness, and output.
7. BONUS: Always end with a final CTA.

It's direct-response after all.

Example: Shop our weighted blanket today with 20% using code "TIKTOK"
This framework can be applied across niches, verticals, products, problems and personas.

Give it a try and see how it can help you streamline your scripting processes!
