1- Before invading, Putin had assessed that America is fractured - or at least severely divided. Without that assessment this war would NOT be happening! America, democracy, and the NATO alliance ARE Putin's impediments. AND his obsessions. His goal - is to diminish them.

2- For years, Putin saw, up close, Trump's fetishization for cruelty and need to win every transaction. He ALSO saw the GOP's unbridled lust for regaining power. He salivated, because what he really saw was the potential for American democracy itself to be altered or compromised.
3- Putin ALSO saw a strong element of our electorate buying into strongman propaganda - call it TrumpISM. In the world of Trumpism, authoritarians are admired as powerful, manly, strong. The strong take what they can. Winning is everything. Ends justify the means. Yes - the GOP.
4- To be clear, Trumpism is not just one orange-tinted sociopath. Nor is it just the angry mob. Nor is it only the GOP! It's a continually metastasizing gigantic apparatus. It's GOP friendly enablers from the shameless McCarthy to the toxic blowhard that is Tucker Carlson.
5- Putin knows that in America's GOP, the end game is rigging it all for Minority Rule. And Trump - the useful idiot himself, will keep spewing fuel on the fire. Putin had expected Trumpism to help his cause with Ukraine. Russian media plays Trump/Pompeo on endless video loops!
6- Think about it. Putin, with all his cyberwarfare talents, put forth only a weak pretense to attack Ukraine. He called them neo-Nazis when it's widely known they're democratic with a Jewish leader. Obviously, Putin thought he'd get help with false narratives from the US right!
7- Putin also believes - and this is a tough one to process - that enablers of Trumpism might control at least one chamber in Congress soon. Maybe the WH in 3 years. Therefore, important to his calculus was also that some sanctions put in place now might be rolled back.
8- And finally, Putin believed he can have an impact on a susceptible American electorate in 2024, and even though the GOP might express outrage now, THEY'LL WELCOME HIS HELP with the election. And as we all know -- they will.
9- Whatever happens in Ukraine, or with Putin, America HAS to vanquish its TRUE foe. It's not Putin. Or Trump. It's the environment of DISINFORMATION. Masks, vaccines, conspiracies, culture wars, burning books. Disinformation and propaganda is everywhere now. Constantly amplified
10- In 2022, Democracy itself will be on the line. Democracy HAS to prevail! For that to happen, TRUTH has to prevail! More Americans have to come back from thinking that feelings and beliefs are a substitute for reason and thought.
11- In 2020, we spoke TRUTH about the aberrant psychopathology of Trump in our film #UNFIT. It also spoke to his autocratic aspirations which we just heard from him yet again at CPAC. Our film was widely distributed; widely seen. It made a difference. It even crossed over a bit.
12- In 2022, before the midterms, we will release #UNTRUTH - the Psychology of TrumpISM. It will also make a difference. It will speak truth to ANYONE who watches it. (And almost everybody watches films.)
13- #UNTRUTH must be an independent film (like #UNFIT). Fiercely independent. It's the only way films like these can be made. If enough truth prevails, democracy will prevail! The more we know about what Trumpism really is, the better chance we have.
