Here’s a quick #tripreport by my friend Gino Bertuccio, who is flying on the inaugural @ITAAirways flight from Rome to Miami today, onboard one of the airline’s recently painted Airbus A330s, in business class.
One would wonder: all that fresh blue paint on the outside would bring some freshness to the hard product on the inside. But those seats have surely seen better days.
Food? Exquisitely presented on the old Alitalia’s #RichardGinori plates and cutlery.
A traditional Aperol Spritz, an elegant starter, a beautiful antipasto, a gorgeous plate of pasta, and a hearty second course of beef.
(I can still see some ‘Magnifica’ branded items).
I remember having the best inflight culinary experiences on the old-old Alitalia (back when they had 747s and 767s). [Found some old 📸 below]. Truly outstanding.
And these dishes from today’s flight sure look beautiful and tasty!
Also, this @ITAAirways service seems a whole lot heartier (and better) than the one I was served on my Turkish Airlines flight last week.
And some chaps are complaining that Emirates is skimming their dishes, too.
For context, see photo below. 🥱
