1/ Q: Russia said the US biomilitary activities in Ukraine have violated the BWC. The US accused Russia of spreading disinformation and called international criticism of US standing alone in opposing a BWC verification mechanism “revisionist history”. Do you have any comments?
2/ Chinese MFA: The US has conducted more biomilitary activities than any other country and is the only country that opposes the establishment of a Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) verification mechanism in the world. The relevant issues remain the focus of the BWC meetings.
3/ At the second PrepCom this week, Russia made the accusation that the US’ biomilitary activities have violated the convention and raised explicit and specific concerns. Regrettably, the US has not directly responded to that yet.

1/ Chinese MFA: The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is believed to be a “second CIA”. This self-proclaimed “non-governmental” and “non-profit” organization actually has long been receiving funds from the US Congress and the White House.
2/ Under the pretext of so-called “democracy”, the NED is engaged in such shady activities as the infiltration of values, subversion and sabotage of other countries’ regimes, and instigation of anti-government movements around the world.
3/ The NED is behind color revolutions, upheavals & violent incidents in many parts of the world, including “Orange Revolution”, “Jasmine Revolution”, disturbance over proposed legislative amendments in Hong Kong & the anti-government demonstration in Thailand.

1/ Chinese MFA: According to the doc the US submitted to the meeting of the state parties to the BWC, the US has cooperation facilities in Ukraine including 26 labs. However, the US Department of Defense said the other day that the US and Ukraine have cooperation in 46 labs.
2/ According to open sources, these labs in Ukraine operate under the command of the US Department of Defense and the US has invested over $200 million in them.
3/ Russia has disclosed some US research plans in bio-labs in Ukraine. One of them, the UP-4 project, studies the possibility of the spread of avian viruses through migrating birds. The R-781 project considers bats as carriers of pathogens that can be transmitted to humans.
