I am literally not equipped to be a modern wife. It’s basically leveled up to “thin baby-making carpenter with film editing experience” and honestly it’s easier to get a PhD.
I least I get to be fat and hire specialists.
Also? Peep the t-shirt.
There was the woman who built her man a home gym. This woman builds a refrigerator wall. I’ve seen women surprising husbands with real estate, home additions and obstacle courses — all documented, of course. That doesn’t even count the cost of being a “hot wife”. It is INTENSE.
Truly not judging your mom. Relax.
(On the second fridge trend, not to be confused with garage or basement fridge trend:)
I think people think I am SAD about not having modern wifery skills, which, uh, who is going to tell them??
I’m not sad.

I will say "$15 hour minimum wage" went from lunatic fringe position to SOTU in my adult lifetime.
Oh god now everyone is going to explain inflation to me. I'm pre-tired.
I am kinda baffled by everyone telling me about inflation, to be honest. Maybe it’s a personality.

I have wondered for a long time if there is a term or concept for actors who become so typecast that they start to act as if they actually are that character. Like how that Buffy guy thinks he is a cop. Or how Sam seems to think he is a cowboy.
I know that police unions and such really court their favorite cop actors. Their adulation can lead the actor to believe he is bona fide. But you also see it with fake soldiers, which I wouldn’t think would go over well with actual enlisted people
Because I think that Buffy guy actually believe he can arrest you.

Black people, do you know what Red Dawn is? Because white people are lighting my ass up about it. You’d think it was John Hughes the way they’re carrying on…
I’m getting a few things. One, y’all had paid for cable. Fancy fancy. Two, I am clearly the child of a half Black nationalist Panther who didn’t think the commies were so bad. Three, I went to a Black school. Four, I should watch I Love The 80s more closely. 😂
I know a lot of white stuff! I’m mildly surprised I don’t know anything about this. But then can anyone truly know the wizard??

I just ran into an old college professor at the coffee shop. Let me tell you how memory works. I was looking for my car. I cohost where I parked it. Yet, I saw the profile of a man in a mask from 500 feet and shouted, “Larry Nessler?!” Same person. Same brain. 😂
What a treat! Not only is it one of the small joys of being home. It is also truly awesome to see your old teachers when you turned out okay 💅🏿
I haven’t seen him in nigh on 12 years or so. I remember his classes like they were yesterday. His was the first class where I could *see* the craft of teaching. He was this middle aged white guy teaching at an HBCU. That can go wrong lots of ways, trust me.

You may laugh but one place I have seen this on the ground? Research about online dating and visa marriages over the last decade. There is marked uptick in white western men AND women desiring former Soviet country partners because they are “traditional”.
(This doesn’t matter at all.) I remember seeing a presentation on this about six years ago. I logged on to some of the discussion boards to follow up. It was like a Trump rally but before Trump. A lot of reverence for Russian leaders as a cultural pinnacle.
It was clearly about race. And once Trump was elected, there was a lot of reflection about Melania as an avatar, with her ethnic origin as a white credential. (Again, none of this matters. It just came to mind.)

Possible! But they're going for a strong black excellence talented tenth campaign so I'm going with she married the stockboy and has been trying to find him to get an annulment, i.e. something that will keep her socially in play.
a baby takes her out of play, imo. But it's tv and they're pretending she would even be there so anything is possible.
(I really think they're too invested in Peggy and them to give her a secret baby. BUT, given all the drama that made Peggy's storyline even make it this far, they could slip it in there.)
