This is a long thread about #Volnovakha, one of MANY towns and cities in #Ukraine that are being completely cut off from any aid or even communication right now. 1/
According to a Mayor General in the Civil Protection Service in the Donetsk region, there are still 27 thousand people who cannot leave the city. People are scared, disoriented, and exhausted. Only small groups of people can be evacuated.
People from nearby villages at risk of their own lives drive to #Volnovaha to save those trapped. But the worst thing is that many refuse to leave shelters because they are too scared and have no idea about what's happening.
And those who would risk to drive out city simply can't because most vehicles have been shelled.
Only providing a green corridor wouldn't be enough. People need to be evacuated by force, otherwise, they choose to stay there.
In this chaos and panic, many small children are lost. No, these children are not in shelters. They are out there, somewhere. Hopefully alive.
