Before Oath Keepers' plea hearing, listening to Judge Amit Mehta considering pretrial detention for a new J6 defendant. Mehta wondering aloud why so many "law abiding citizens" acted up that day.

"Why, because you thought the election was stolen contrary to all the evidence?"
Someone needs to send Judge Mehta a copy of Mollie Hemingway's book or maybe even this.

BTW this is a new one for me. DOJ attempting to shield the name of police officers involved in brawls, attacks by insisting they are entitled to privacy under Victims Right Act. So this is how police are described:
Mehta orders defendant released to home incarceration. DOJ asks for stay to consider appeal, Mehta is unamused but will hold defendant until new hearing at 3pm this Friday.

No consistency in Mehta's pretrial detention rulings, 2 of this defendant's co-defendants are detained.
Mehta is deeply partisan but probably the smartest judge on DC District. I am sure he's angling for a promotion to DC Circuit when Brown Jackson is confirmed to SCOTUS

Ok up next: Plea hearing for Joshua James, the Oath Keeper in the Stewart Rhodes' seditious conspiracy case.

Judge Mehta presiding:

justice.gov/usao-dc/case-m…
James is not detained, sounds like he is appearing remotely not in person. (Not the clearest connection.)

James, 34, pleads guilty to seditious conspiracy and obstruction of an official proceeding.

WOW
Mehta seems surprised, detected hesitation in James' voice, asks him again if he understands the plea agreement.

James was helping with "security" that day (Stone, I think) and was in the building for about 5 minutes.

He will cooperate with the government, per plea.

Status hearing now with Timothy Hale before Judge Trevor McFadden.

Hale has been imprisoned since January 2021; McFadden, a Trump appointee, has held Hale behind bars under pre-trial detention orders.

His trial is set for May 23, 2022.

DOJ says "hundreds of thousands of FBI...
files still have not been unloaded to the sharable database. They won't be available until April as they undergo "review."

DOJ addressing chronic issue of defendants in DC Gulag (where Hale is) not being able to see discovery. She blames it on Hale not signing protective order.
DOJ will file a superseding indictment in a "matter of weeks" to remove its lie that Kamala Harris was in the Capitol on January 6.

DOJ wants another exclusion from Speedy Trial clock; defense objects.

Hale's original trial date was November 2021.

Hale says he won't sign...

This is your average reply. After calling Trump an authoritarian for years without evidence, Democrats get mad when the label is accurately applied to Biden and in their rage endorse his authoritarianism against Trump supporters
Fabricating evidence. And this is just one example

Making up charges. Again this is one example — obstruction of an official proceeding is another

Let's do a little flashback to late 2019, early 2020 when Democrats, supported by NeverTrumpers now banging the war drums, covered up Biden-Ukraine grift and Ukraine's interference in the 2016 election with impeachment ruse.

Remember Alexandra Chalupa?

amgreatness.com/2019/11/11/ins…
Remember when George Kent confirmed Ukraine's endemic corruption and admitted Hunter's "board appointment" to Burisma was a major problem?

Forgot about this from my Feb 2020 column: "Under Biden’s direction, leaders in the European Union brokered a massive bailout for Ukraine. The veep helped negotiate a $17.5 billion aid package from the International Monetary Fund."

DOJ just changed the official name of its J6 investigation from “Capitol breach” to “Capitol siege.”

This new stunt, just like January 6 itself, is an orchestrated effort btw Democrats and Capitol police to demonize foes of the Biden regime and silence criminal dissent:
As I wrote today, DOJ opened a “Capitol siege” section in DOJs criminal division and is looking to hire at least 20 new lawyers to expand its abusive, vengeful prosecution of Trump supporters.

Sure, be outraged at Trudeau. What about tyranny here?

amgreatness.com/2022/02/21/tru…
The real siege is against the American people.

They’re worried about Putin? REALLY?

This is the crushing of political dissent in America by a weak leader and party on the verge of losing political power across the board.

And GOP leaders are doing what? Squawking about Ukraine.
