While putting $900k aside is good, it is not enough, shd be doing more like $4m. Once retirement funding is complete (approx 2030ish) then those funds can come here and help reduce the obligation accordingly #tc0302

OPEB is what is promised to retirees other than the pension, medical is usually 90-95% of the liability. There is no rule for when this should be fully funded, shd be over 30 yrs or so, but no requirements for a time period specific. Funding will save down the road #tc0302

Clarification questions to understand OPEB and overall funding status and strategy vs peers, #tc0302 (aside, it was about 3-5 yrs ago that the realization to use the retirement funding to help offset makes this all a better situation)
