RACIST TREATMENT OF AFRICANS AND SOUTH ASIANS IN UKRAINE AND POLAND.
African and South Asian students complain about Polish racism on the Ukraine border.
Yesterday Indian TV too reported about the treatment meted out to Indian students escaping the fighting.
Not only this fleeing students have to brave the gauntlet of armed gangs of Ukrainians pulling them out of trains and removing them from stations to make way for Ukrainians fleeing their own country.
We see the Ukrainian ambassador constantly appearing on Indian TV remonstrating on the Modi government’s Ukraine policy. Has he been asked about Ukrainian attitudes?
Now is the Modi government going to take this up with the Polish and Ukrainian governments and tell them this behaviour is unacceptable?
“SACHA PFEIFFER, HOST:
Among the hundreds of thousands of people fleeing Ukraine are students from Africa, India and Latin America.
One student from India was killed in shelling this morning in the northeastern city of Kharkiv. Amid all this desperation and chaos, some students of color say they've been badly treated, and their governments have complained.
But the picture is complicated because other students say they've been met with kindness. As NPR's Eleanor Beardsley and Frank Langfitt crossed into Hungary this morning, they spoke to refugees crossing with them.
FRANK LANGFITT, BYLINE: Clement Akenboro is an economics student from Nigeria. And on Sunday, he tried to pack into a train in the city of Lviv - that's in the far west of Ukraine - and head over the border into Poland. Here's what he told our colleague, Tim Mak.
CLEMENT AKENBORO: The security men - they drug all the Black guys from the train.
TIM MAK, BYLINE: Really?
AKENBORO: I was already in the train.
ELEANOR BEARDSLEY, BYLINE: Already on the train and thrown off, Akenboro says.
He was so embarrassed to be thrown off the train, he felt like crying. He's not the only foreigner of color who's felt mistreated trying to cross borders here. Indian students have told Indian television that border guards beat them.
Freedom Chidera, also Nigerian, has spent five years studying medicine in Ukraine. He told me that border guards insulted him and other people of color.
FREEDOM CHIDERA: I'm traumatized. I need to relax. I need to detox my mind. I've been through a lot in Polish border.
I mean, that's the worst experience in my life. I called my mother. I was crying. I was really crying to her.”
HOW THE UKRAINE PAID FOR THE WEST IGNORING THE RUSSIAN RED LINES
Russian President Vladimir Putin had been subjected to a series of sophomoric psychological profiles that trivialized Russian national concerns as little more than the psychotic whim of a troubled individual.
The caricatures that emerged of the Russian state and its leadership colored the analysis of Russia’s oft-stated concerns over what it viewed as its legitimate national security.
This blinded the West to the reality of what was transpiring.

A boy from Karnataka, aspiring doctor, 4th year student, gets killed in Ukraine. He was out to get food and water.
And Modi Sarkar is asking, why are students going to small countries to become doctors?
A minister is insinuating that this boy was a failure.
The Godi Media and Modi Bhakts are blaming the boy.
People, did you see the boy's photograph?
Do you feel anything for the parents of this boy? This photograph is of a person who died because Modi Sarkar, being busy with elections, did not bother to evacuate Indian students from Ukraine, where war clouds were gathering.
Now here is the truth delivered by an authority (not official though but by experience and by being an expert in the field).
"What union minister Prahlad Joshi says that '90% Indians who study MBBS abroad fail to clear qualifiers in India' is complete bull shit. It is a false narrative spread by a desperate administration that failed the student community on every front.
Each of these students actually qualified NEET and are admitted into foreign medical colleges based on a NEET rank.
NEET is a joke played on Indian students. For 2021, the qualifying marks were 138 out of a possible 720 marks.
It was really very nice of you to address the students who have come back from Ukraine and all Indians appreciate your governments effort, Operation Ganga, to bring rest of the students stranded there back to the country.
The dispatch of four senior ministers to various borders of Ukraine is highly appreciated too.
I note with pleasure that PM Modi has now become aware of the problem of Indian students going abroad to do MBBS course.
