At the start of February, news broke that Channel 5 will drop Neighbours from schedules in the summer. This left the show’s fate up in the air, with many questioning if another channel would pick the soap up.

Pop queen Kylie – who played Charlene Mitchell in the Oz soap – shared a message on Twitter replying to the statement the Neighbours account posted.
The tweet read: ‘We are so sorry to say that after nearly 37 years and almost 9000 episodes broadcast we have to confirm that Neighbours will cease production in June. Following the loss of our key broadcast partner in the UK...we simply have no option but to rest the show.'
Kylie, who played Charlene from 1986-1988, responded and said: ‘I’ll be forever grateful for the experience & the friends I made on @neighbours.'
Kylie has been very vocal about how enjoyable her time was on the Australian soap.
Since the tweet was posted, many fans have responded, wondering if Kylie will return to the show before the final ever episode in June.
Kylie has previously told ITV that she has ‘such fond memories of Neighbours’, but she wouldn’t be returning.
