Many excused it by saying she didn’t understand what «слава Украины!» (Slava Ukraina!) on the scarf 🧣 means. She speaks fluent Russian & Ukrainian and reads Cyrillic. And she knows who the Svoboda Party is and their flag.

@SamLowryEsq @ArthurCleroux @plymouthian “Slava Ukraina!” means “Glory to Ukraine!”, but it is not some pedestrian phrase. It was used as a military greeting during the war, by Ukrainian nationalist neo-Nazi Bandera supporters of the UPA. This is a fact.

Senators Graham (R) and Klobuchar (D) accompanied him. There is video of this meeting, where Graham talks of making the Russians pay a “higher price.”

@SamLowryEsq @ArthurCleroux @plymouthian Yes, there is nuance in all of this perhaps, but Parubiy and Tyahnybok have never been shy in expressing their real views. Even fan-favorite Kiev Mayor Klitschko embraced the far right. And he wanted streets in Kiev renamed for Nazi collaborators.
