Some like to run, some like to swim, some to play football.
If you have trouble being motivated, doing an activity you enjoy can be a good start

When to exercise?
The morning is best for having a good day if you can,
while the evening is good for relieving stress.
Both are very valid so find your spot during the day that fits you the best.

Exercising and sleeping
From my experience, when I train more, I sleep even better and I need less time to rest.
I can even fall asleep earlier so when I dedicate more time to training I am actually saving time.
So exercise to sleep better.
