🧵NEW FOI response from DfE

Request was for minutes and attendees for meetings where school guidence was written for June 2020 partial return and full return with no mitigations in Sept 2020
2/ DfE says there are no minutes because the guidence was drawn up without any meetings!

So who wrote the guidence?
How can they claim to have followed the guidence when SAGE advice was for mitigations?
3/ A look at the DfE guidence for Summer and Autumn 2020 with reference to the SAGE documents

Can see SAGE weren't listened to

4/ A full look at the Containment Framework (think schools version of lockdown tiers, only really implementable once in the top tier)

Never implemented
5/ They justified this with some questionable PHE reports, remember this was when we were being told kids less likely to be infected, kids don't transmit as much, transmission isn't occuring in schools
6/ Of note Sunak organised a meeting in August 2020 with Gupta, Heneghan, Dingwall and Tegnell

8/ Let's be quite clear, the evidence they've provided on things like masks is junk, thrown out of courtrooms across the US and Europe
9/ Quite astounding for a "grassroots" movement after only a few months to get a meeting with the Prime Minister, but they managed it
10/ Then again when you get PR advice from Ed Baker who was key person in Johnsons leadership campaign it helps
As does having the support of T4recovery (Farage, Tice) to run promotional gimmicks

11/ Tegnell at the time was lobbying governments to embrace herd immunity

Gov claims there are no minutes of the meeting in August organised by Sunak, we can guess what this groups advice was

12/ By October schools were facing increasing disruption, Alpha was starting up

We continued to be gaslit about transmission in schools
13/ Government refused calls to introduce ventilation and masks, additional testing etc
Refused to implement measures in the containment framework

This is as the Great Barrington Declaration is launched
14/ While government went through the theatre of tiers we got bombarded with the "no second wave cos herd immunity crowd"

The ones claiming they were silenced after appearing across the media

How did they do?⬇️
15/ And we end up in December 2020 with the government threatening to take Greenwich to court, containment framework still wasn't used then!?

DfE claimed decision was evidence based, I have the FOI for that too
16/ They have regularly said they've consulted about school guidence, they ignored the unions, but they did set up an advisory group includes CEOs, Public First etc
17/ An expert panel of those who have pushed for and benefitted from government education policies for years

Rubber stamps at the ready
18/ Also worth noting that a lot of SAGE advice from Summer 2020 took a very long time to release February 2021 in this case

All that time they claimed they were following the science
19/Meetings with lobbyists with links to opaquely funded groups
No meeting minutes
Didn't follow science
Didn't publish science
PHE gaslighting

ONS breach of code of practice⬇️
20/ Now considering SAGES advice Feb 2022 does it support the removal of all measures, huge cutbacks on testing etc?

And it's worth considering how these disinformation groups are being integrated in the Tory Party and Parliament

As more attention turns to dark money, why are APPGs allowed to be funded by groups that won't reveal their own funding

We have no idea who is funding this group!

Well we do have a good idea and it's not good

This undermines democracy
The group are also demanding the halt of vaccines for at least under 16s

We also have the Down Syndrome Bill which also has an organisation run by a member of disinformation group HART, no suprise the organisation acting as Secretariat doesn't reveal its funding
