Just days after revealing his dream to play #JamesBond, #Outlander heart-throb Sam Heughan has slipped behind in the betting stakes 💔
The 41-year-old is best known for his starring role as Jamie Fraser, a Highland warrior in the drama-fantasy series #Outlander, alongside Caitríona Balfe who plays a WW2 military nurse.
Earlier this week, @SamHeughan said taking over from Daniel Craig as the next 007 would be an "incredible job" but joked that his odds were "maybe 500/1?"
Now William Hill has updated their pick for #JamesBond.
Heughan clocks at 16-1 - meaning he has slipped back from 12-1 earlier in the year, despite the new #Outlander season six hitting our screens.
With the rumour mill turning around who will slip into the iconic tuxedo, this isn’t the first time that Heughan has been linked to the spy role.
The Balmaclellan-born actor in fact lost out to Craig in the auditions for Casino Royale, his first instalment in the franchise.
Heughan recently revealed what he would bring to the famous spy if he were to be cast, telling The Sunday Times that he would take it “back to where it all began… What would I bring? Scottish charm and a slight humour.”
It’s not just Heughan who has already had a crack at 007, with Henry Cavill also having auditioned for the role.
Perhaps being a former auditionee will be advantageous to Barbara Broccoli’s casting choice, as the #Superman Man of Steel star is among William Hill’s favourites for the role of #JamesBond, priced at 9-2.
Cavill does have some hot competition though! #Suicidesquad and #Luther star Idris Elba clocks the same odds, 9-2.
Other Scots who could take the franchise back to its days of ‘Scottish charm’ include #GameofThrones and Rocketman actor Richard Madden at a respectable 8-1.
BAFTA nominated Jack Lowden is priced at 28-1, Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor at 66-1, and Line of Duty’s Martin Compston also priced at 66-1.
There's also good news for #Bridgerton fans. Rege-Jean Page odds for #JamesBond held strong at 7-4.
