Work from home💻

During the first lockdown, petrol and diesel sales dropped by more than 70% as people worked from home

🚗Remote working would make a significant dent in fuel consumption for commuters who drive a long distance

Insulate the loft♨️

🇺🇦“It’s a case of ‘support Ukraine, lag your loft’,” said @doug_parr, the chief scientist at Greenpeace UK.

📉Households who can afford to pay for loft and cavity wall insulation can save money on their bills and reduce their demand for gas.

Almost 20% of the UK’s diesel supply comes from Russia. People should:

🚃Switch to public transport
🚲Try walking or cycling
🚫Cut driving speeds to between 45 and 55mph for fuel efficiency

Switch to a heat pump⚡️

Households that switch to a heat pump will cut their gas use by 80%

💡The Government is set to launch the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which will give households a £5000 grant towards the cost of a heat pump
