I love #eth as much as the next guy. But gas fees are brutal. It cost me (if memory serves) around $70 to register my .eth name... and the majority was gas.
Setting data like my site name, twitter, and other chain addresses is extra. Don't even get me started about changing data after registration... that's more gas.
#icp apps can use reverse gas models, meaning that users don't pay any gas fees at all. This is sustainable when you have transaction fees that are a fraction of a cent!
The #icp stack is at the point where I can deploy a personal site (on my long todo list) on the Internet Computer blockchain, host an NFT profile pic on the chain, and link both of those to my personal .icp name.
