🧵Today marks the end of an era.

The very last #reggae special is broadcasted on @SRF. As an #offbeat-lover and fan of the show I rummaged through the archives to find some interesting data about the past 13 years. Guess who is played more than @bobmarley?

(2) The first #show aired on 07th July 2009. In the meantime there were 579 broadcasts 📡 in total, mostly with @LukeeLavaOnFire at the mic 🎙️, who occasionally pushed the wrong buttons 🎛️, but always offered interesting insights into #music & #culture.

(3) 551 shows, including additional mixes, are still available for download. This would provide entertainment for 61 flights ✈️ from @zrh_airport🇨🇭 to @NMIAJA🇯🇲. Or you could run the @ReggaeMarathon 300 times - assuming you run as fast as @LukeeLavaOnFire

(4) The archive lists 13’858 songs played. Among them @bobmarley appears 222 times. Including his offspring the name Marley shows up every 2nd show. But 4 artists are played more often than the king: @PopcaanMusic 349x

(5) songwise, "Who Knows" by @Protoje and @ChronixxMusic, "Smile Jamaica" by @ChronixxMusic and "Reggae Music Again" by @busysignal_turf got the most plays (17x each)

(6) #Reggae music comes with a lot of clichés, especially about smoking #herb 🌿🌋 all day. But when looking for dedicated keywords in song titles we find only every 50th song being about #ganja. It may be an important part, but there is a lot more artists sing about.

(7) This being said I wanted to thank @LukeeLavaOnFire for all his efforts and interesting insights into the music we all love so much. Finally here is a small list of alternative shows as not to be completely lost without the show🕳️. Do you know more?
