Story of @rahulpandita is also very interesting and exposes the functioning of intellectual mafia ecosystem. First he authored a book ‘Hello Bastar’ in 2011 which was sympathetic to Naxalites. He was celebrated and encouraged in intellectual circles. He was a hero.
It was said, he is the ray of hope in India. He was invited in elites circles, literature festivals, seminars, debates and discussions to elaborate more about how Indian State is oppressing tribals in Bastar and how naxals are fighting for social justice.
Then in 2013, @rahulpandita authored ‘Our Moon Has Blood Clots’ which narrates the eye witness story of Kashmiri pandits. The response of intellectuals was appalling. He was thrown out of all intellectual circles. He was not invited at any literature festivals.
He was abused, his credibility was questioned and exiled from all intellectual spaces. What was his sin ? He just narrated what he saw and felt, what is family and fellow Kashmiri’s have gone through. But ecosystem was so strong that he faced another exodus.
It tells us about nature freedom of expression that existed then. It was only one sided. If you wage a war against India, glorify terrorists and naxals. You would b celebrated as a top class intellectual or youth icon by the moment you tell the other side you will be annihilated.
