“To IPOB/ESN, the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), as well as the disparate armed groups in the forests, it is time to interrogate both the purpose and means of your campaign.” — @CCSoludo
“To the politicians playing politics with the insecurity, you are riding a tiger. The current trajectory is a road to desolation. Let us get around the table and talk. Let the elite in the closet come out, and let’s debate our future and forge a consensus.” — @CCSoludo
“The conspiracy of silence by the elite and some community leaders must end. If you see something, say or do something! Securing Igboland and Nigeria must be our collective responsibility.” — @CCSoludo
“Let those in the forests come out, surrender their guns and let’s work together to rehabilitate and empower you to contribute positively to the peace and prosperity of our homeland.” — @CCSoludo
“Every day there is a “sit at home”, these poor masses lose an estimated N19.6 billion in Anambra alone.” — @CCSoludo
“Due to the protracted breakdown of law and order, businesses are relocating outside Igboland, with growing unemployment, and traders who used to come to shop in Onitsha, Aba etc are going elsewhere. Who is losing?” — @CCSoludo
“By forcing our children—the future of Igboland—to stay at home instead of being in school, while even the critically sick people (including pregnant women) cannot go to hospital, we harm our future.” — @CCSoludo
“I hereby challenge any of the disparate groups that claims that it is not part of the senseless killings and kidnappings to step out and show leadership by joining hands with us to DO something about it. If you love our homeland, there is no place for bloodshed.” — @CCSoludo

Anybody who thinks that a single person needed to ‘unite’ a country of 200m is frankly deluded.

Every Nigerian leader since 1999 has been accused of not uniting the nation, & the next President in 2023 will be accused of same. That’s our way!

Uniting Nigeria is a task for ALL! ImageImageImage
For example there’s very little any President, regardless of who he or she is, can do in the face of Media Organisations who maliciously insist on labeling certain crimes by ethnicity, while approaching other crimes differently.
The energy spent looking for a single person to ‘unite’ a country would be better spent working on ourselves as citizens, Media, CSOs, traditional & religious leaders, youth, etc, to stop being so tolerant of bigotry in our midst. To stop amplifying destructive stereotypes.

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) is establishing Integrated Farm Estates across Nigeria. So far, new/revived Farm Estates commissioned in Katsina, Yobe and Imo. Others ongoing—Ogun donated 100 hectares of land, Kwara 100ha, Kogi 700ha, Gombe 200ha, etc ImageImageImageImage
President Buhari has asked NALDA to establish these Integrated Farm Settlements in each of the 109 Senatorial Districts in the country. Image
NALDA is not a new Federal agency (estab. 1992) but it’s been dormant since around 2000, until last year when PMB revived it, appointed Prince Paul Ikonne as Executive Secretary & CEO (June 2020), & directed that it be domiciled in the Presidency for direct supervision by him.

.@NigeriaGov is launching a National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS), with a pilot to start in the FCT. (Been in the works for a bit)

In the simplest possible terms, think of it as a ‘public Uber service but for ambulances.’

See next tweet for details.
NEMSAS: “It provides a prehospital care in the form of ambulance services, to transport patients to hospitals and emergency medical treatment services for up to 48 hours in the hospitals at no immediate cost to the patient at the point of care.”
I don’t have details as to exactly how it will work, but expect more info from @Fmohnigeria.

This PhD - can it be for real?

This thing where you constantly highlight Ghana news and deliberately unlook Nigeria news, you CANNOT be educated and be doing it.

Toyota went to Ghana yes, but several others are here in Nigeria, incl Hyundai, Honda, GAC, Geely, Kia, Peugeot etc Image
This year, already, Peugeot is back assembling cars in Nigeria, in a JV with Dangote Group. Brand new plant, hasn’t even been formally commissioned yet. Image
Geely Assembly plant in Nigeria, opened 2020.

Before you open an ignorant mouth to try and diss the Geely brand, remember they own sizable stakes in Daimler (owners of Mercedes Benz) and Volvo, and in 2020 announced a new JV with Mercedes-Benz AG to focus on electric vehicles.

.@NigeriaGov has so far done a fantastic job on the #Ukraine evacuation. We’ve come a long way from the initial reports suggesting abandonment of Nigerians — even at a time when serious work was going on behind the scenes to sort out diplomatic + logistical pre-evac issues.
Naturally, the media enthusiasm about reporting “abandonment” far exceeds any enthusiasm for reporting UPDATES that suggest things are being done right.

But what matters most is that all Nigerians who want to return home are able to do so promptly & safely. And that’s ongoing.
Kudos to @NigeriaMFA @FMHDSD @nidcom_gov @NGRPresident and all other MDAs involved in the evacuation effort. And of course all the concerned Nigerian Missions in and around #Ukraine.
