Out of the ~10,000 #Match2022 applicants that had to #SOAP2022

How many got ZERO interviews? It would be helpful to know % interviewed and got a spot.

Giving false hope that you might still have a solid chance is just as cruel as not Matching.

I’ll start.

4X unmatched, never got an interview in 🧼.

In main Match, got ONE interview my 3rd/4th time applying through a connection. Have only applied to IM, Peds, and FM

That’s why I decided I will not apply for residency anymore.

I decided Monday when I didn’t Match again that I was done with the process.

It is like a toxic relationship that I am now leaving. I’ve realized it’s not my failure, it is the system.

I’ve found a career path that makes me happy and wants me.

You shouldn’t feel like garbage applying for a training position after going through and successfully completing med school.

And the reality is, thousands will continue to go #unmatched until the system gets a MAJOR overhaul.

Until this system is fixed, do not think of residency as the end game. Because for a lot it won’t be, no matter how much they deserve or want it.

You can have a fulfilling career and do what you love.

The AP license in MO really helped my self esteem. I found out I am a good doctor, they system as failed to recognize it

For any of you wanting to work in clinical medicine while being unmatched, go to MO!

Also legislate in your states to pass the license!

I also have House Physician license in FL and Med grad training permit in AZ.

Recently applied for the IMG temp license in IL too and considering the WA IMG limited license.

There is opportunity outside of residency! You just need to think outside the box.
