Earlier today, I facilitated a professional learning experience for @CSUSM pre-service teachers, faculty, and members of the San Marcos Writing Project. Waving hello to those of you who were in that audience that followed me here! As promised...
I would love to connect you to others here who teach me much about multimodal composition, new literacies, and the relationship between making and writing.
@WickedDecent published Intention: Critical Creativity in the Classroom with @amyburvall and welcomed me into the #dtk12chat fold years ago. He is also an incredible teacher and human. @ShawnaCoppola published Writing Redefined, which I cannot recommend enough.
@ShawnaCoppola is also a strong voice and literacy-minded thought leader who is committed to anti-racist scholarship and work, and I listen when she speaks.
@MrAleoSays digs into the history, complexities, and nuances inside of this work on the regular, and he is also a middle school English teacher. He co-authored Learning That Transfers: Designing Curriculum for a Changing World. Follow the #LTT hashtag to connect with others too.
@mrbgilson is bringing multimodal composition into his own classroom, @PaulWHankins is a teacher-artist who has been immersed in this thinking and work forever, and @Jreaderwriter is a researcher and practitioner here as well.
@Ed_by_design will inspire you, deepen, and challenge your thinking. @luckybydesign will do the same. And if you follow my lists, you may discover others whose identities, thinking, and work are much different from my own and from those in my circle of #makewriting friends.
If you have others whose work you'd recommend, I'd love to "meet" them, too. It was so wonderful hanging out with all of you today. I'll share some additional resources and tools with you here and on Instagram shortly.
