However it is a serendipitous illustration how #FactCheckBait & #QTbait work by making your broader ideological point more visible.

Looking at the stats for that thread, a lot of its spread beyond my usual Twitter circle is because of people wanting to either politely point out to me or QT/SS/taunt me that it was not JJ who pioneered midday meals. Were around from the 1950s, in fact even 1920s Tamil Nadu.
And all this extra "vitality" for the thread cos of that factual mistake, tho I literally corrected myself in minutes when the first person mentioned Kamaraj and I was like, yikes, brain fart! Of course midday meals for needy students were around from before JJ.
Now imagine if, like right wingers do, I had doubled down on my factual mistake, tried to talk my way out of it, or pretend like it didn't happen.
I'd get even more attention that comes from that JJ/Kamaraj mix-up. But they would still read my overall ISKCON bashing point.

And I totally stand by my overall ISKCON bashing point re midday lunches. So as long as that got propagated, why would I care that some strangers on the internet are saying mean things about me?

The whole thread was just an impulsive offshoot of another entirely apolitical thread, about a white folks run vegetarian restaurant with desi flavors.
