A 🧵 on completing the Ukrainian visa application form for anyone else gearing up for a struggle with bureaucracy. First, information on becoming a sponsor can be found here 1/13 homesforukraine.campaign.gov.uk
Second, the application portal for those who have international passports is 👇. Sponsors appear to be able to complete the form, as long as you identify yourself as doing so when it comes to the declaration.
Use a unique pw for each application
2/13 apply.visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/has-internatio…
Ask for copies of the following before you start: 1. Ukrainian international passport, clearly showing ALL of the information on the photo page. This is the only document you MUST get for each applicant who has a passport.
(cont'd)
3/13
2. Ukrainian internal passport (which is what they call their identity card). 3. Covid vaccination certificate if available 4. Birth certificate for each applicant under the age of 18
4/13
5. If possible, written consent from both parents (if not, one parent) for each applicant under the age of 18 to apply for a UK Visa 6. Driving licence 7. Any other document evidencing that the applicant was resident in Ukraine before 1 January 2022
5/13
If you cannot get copies of 2-7, do not worry, as they are not mandatory. Items 2, 3 and 6 may provide evidence of residency. There is a box to explain why the applicant is not able to produce (further) evidence of residency at this stage (eg: "left home in a hurry") 6/13
Other information needed for each applicant:
A. Email address
B. Mobile phone number
C. Permanent address in Ukraine
D. Given names (I do not think this includes a patronymic)
E. Any name(s) by which they were previously known
(cont'd)
7/13
F. Confirmation of the place of birth for each applicant as it appears on their passport (it only appears in Cyrillic script so, depending on the standard of your Ukrainian, you may need them to provide an English translation)
(cont'd)
8/13
G. Answers to each of the following Qs (with details where appropriate):
9/13
You will also need a scan of the sponsor's passport plus the name and passport number of each existing adult permanently residing in the home which the applicants are going to live in when they get to the UK
10/13
You can save and exit each application prior to its completion. When doing so you can download a copy of the application so far as you have completed it so that it can be checked by the applicant.
NB: ask to be emailed the link to the application (save this in a Word doc)
11/13
Before completing the declaration, ensure all documents are ready to upload *in PDF format*. Do not create the pdf documents directly from picture files without checking that images have not been been cropped
12/13
Finally, remember to download the document checklist for each applicant at the end of the process. That's all #simples#not

Far from being the victory which some are claiming it to have been, today's Divisional Court decision about Dido Harding's appointment is a massive blow to the Good Law Project and its ability to meddle in all manner of governmental decisions 👇 1/
The decision itself has been peddled as involving a finding that Dido Harding's appointment was unlawful. Such a portrayal is inaccurate. The Court found that there had been breaches of the PSED in the process by which Harding was appointed, but 2/
The Court made no finding that Harding's appointment was in fact unlawful. It was asked, but declined, to do so 3/3
