Tomorrow, for the first time in American history, a black woman will start the advice and consent process to sit on the Supreme Court.
And Republicans will absolutely beclown themselves trying to stop her.
Out here on these Tweets, there will be a lot of white wing bullies casting about dog whistle racism and other aspersions. I'll try to Tank as many as I can and hold aggro. Don't pay them no mind.
Instead, try to remind your Democratic Senators and others with platform to defend this impeccably qualified and historic nominee. Too often, Democrats leave women of color out to dry while both sides media goes on the attack (coughVPcough). Encourage them not to do that.

Nice. @JoyAnnReid " @DrIbram is not a critical race theorist and anybody who tells you otherwise is ignorant or lying."
God damn. Joy was on my TV for five minutes and MELTED IT
OH SHIT... And Chris Hayes just basically called out Gym Jordan and the fact that Republicans too often DON'T take allegation of child sexual assault seriously

All righty, Confirmation Hearing question day. Durbin says it's "Trial by Ordeal" #ConfirmationHearing
Jackson describes her 3 step process;
1: Start from a position of neutrality
2: Evaluating all the facts from various perspectives
3: Apply law to facts, while observing the constraints on judicial authority. (jurisdiction, precedent, "ADHERANCE TO TEXT")
She says she's constrained by the "original public meaning" which is the buzzword that conservatives know. But then says "sometimes that's enough."
And of course SOMETIMES it's not, but conservatives oversell their hands by acting like it always is.

Time for Jackson's opening statement. If you were waiting for today's moment, here it is. #ConfirmJudgeJackson
Jackson: "It is faith that sustains me at this moment."

That's cool. For me it's brats right now because we grilled this weekend.
Jackson points out how her brother volunteered for the army after the 9/11 attacks... but Republicans are STILL going to call her a terrorist sympathizer for defending Gitmo detainees.

Senator Dick Durbin really wanted the job chairing this committee, and it's his biggest moment so far. I am rooting for him. #ConfirmJudgeJackson
Is the Senate audio bad or am I having a stroke?
I hope they fix it for Grassley because he's hard enough to understand when you hear all the words.

Look at how conservative white people react to a FICTIONAL black woman president
I mean, next week, this same publication that can't handle a black women president ON A TELEVISION SHOW is going to claim to have reasonable and *totally not racist* thoughts about a real life black woman on the Supreme Court.
THEN, when somebody, maybe me, says something like "Nobody should take these racist fuckwits seriously" I'll because accused of trying to "cancel" the people who went number one in the pull ups because Stacey Abrams made a cameo on the NOTORIOUSLY ANTI-RACIST Star Trek.

All right, hitting the road. My audio companion is Hero of Two Worlds, by @mikeduncan. I've been *saving* this for a road trip.

And while we're here, the reviews I've seen speak of Duncan's unflinching rebuke of George Washington and his stubborn refusal to see enslaved people as people.

So, you know, you don't have to be a Black guy to tell the truth about the people who founded this country.
I got to Philly the same time Lafayette did. :)
