The mind and body are intimately connected. Environment plays an important role and a major contributing factor to a person’s mental health and we all spend more time at our workplaces than anywhere else.
Research has also found that workplaces that promote mental health are more likely to reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and benefit from associated economic gains.
“When it comes to mental health, the problem is that we are almost always reactive – people wait until they become depressed to see a doctor and get treated. However, prevention can be worth much more than treatment
Emotional well-being is linked to a variety of advantages in terms of health, family, work, and economic status. Positive emotions and outlook on life are linked to a lower risk of disease, illness, and injury; improved immune function; better coping and recovery;
and increased longevity. Furthermore, mental health and mental illness can have an impact on physical health, and stress is a risk factor for some illnesses.
Positive mental health is associated with an improved endocrine function (lower cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine levels) and immune response (i.e., higher antibody production and greater resistance to illness). It has also been linked to increased longevity.
How do I recognize a mental health problem?
According to Mental Health UK, these below outlines should indicate an impending or existing mental health situation.
If you have difficult feelings that are:
🚩Stopping you from getting on with life
🚩Having a big impact on the people you live or work with
🚩Affecting your mood over several weeks
🚩Causing you to have thoughts of suicide.
How can you care for your mental health?
🔵Speak to someone close and you trust about your feelings
🔵Stay Active and Physically fit (Yoga and early morning exercise can help)
🔵Eat a balanced diet and fruits regularly
🔵Don't drink too much alcohol
🔵Don't overthink situations
🔵Forgive people that offend you and move on
🔵Have clicks you interact with regularly
🔵Do something you love (Movies, watch comedy, play games, snooker, etc)
🔵Take a break
🔵Accept who you are and keep working on your weak aspects
Don't suffer in silence, SPEAK UP. Seek medical advice and counsel (Your mental health matters)
Employers also should understand that a mentally friendly environment can brew unimaginable growth and can double results. People do their best work when they are so happy and feel part of the environment
Poor employee mental health can cost employers money as it will impact productivity and employee performance. Mental health, like physical health, can be thought of as a continuum. Mental health is at one end of the spectrum, while mental illness is at the other.

😨Arthritis can be debilitating and painful, that's why a greater understanding of the disease can help you or your loved one modify and reduce its impact.
If you have Parents who are old. A Kidney Function Test will be a good gift for them.
Here is why
If any of your parents have diabetes, high blood pressure (or have been using antihypertensive drugs for over 5 years), it is very important to book a Kidney Function Test for them
This is just to ascertain if their kidneys are functioning optimally. You will agree with me that our parents are like treasures and deserve all the goodies in life from us especially when the test is only N10, 000 (na 10k oh) see link here bit.ly/SpeaktoPharmac…
Once you book a test for them,
We will go to their house and collect their samples
Do the test for them
and share the result with you
So there is no need for you to move them around. (Easy habi, yeah, that's the feeling)
