1/7 TOKAEV DRAGS KAZAKHSTAN INTO THE WAR WITH UKRAINE
Russia is intensively looking for ways to circumvent sanctions imposed by democratic countries. China and the Kazakhstani government are helping Russia to do that.
2/7 Large convoys of long-distance tractor trucks go from China through Kazakhstan to Samara (Russia's transport hub). In addition, the Kazakhs are also moving their troops ostensibly "for exercises" in the direction of Russia.
3/7 Between 11 February and 17 March 2022, Kazakhstanis recorded and warned human rights defenders/oppositioners about the movement of military equipment in Kazakhstan from the southern part of the country to the north, in the direction of Russia.
4/7 The impunity for mass shootings and torture in Kazakhstan by the Tokayev-Nazarbayev government in January 2022, with Putin's direct support, and the deployment of Russian-led CSTO troops for this purpose,⤵️
5/7 reinforced Putin's belief that an attack on Ukraine would also go unanswered by the international community. In addition, the use of the CSTO to keep the Tokayev-Nazarbayev’s regime in power has put them in direct dependence on Putin.
2/7 Saule IMANGOZHINA couldn’t find her son for a long time. Nobody could tell her his location. Wherever she went, she heard about operation “Seizure”. She was not allowed in, pushed back with a gun.
2/6 who was beaten and tortured with an iron, suffered "minor injuries" despite the fact that doctors had previously diagnosed him with a concussion and extensive burns.
3/6 On 16 March 2022, TOKAYEV stated that the authorities had admitted the facts of torture in Kazakhstan following the January protests, and that a thorough investigation had been ordered and torture must be eradicated. It appears that there is no transparent investigation,⤵️

2/8 He was arbitrarily detained in front of the Akimat (local executive body), using brute force and was even handcuffed. He was then brutally beaten in the Ile assembly hall with batons. This beating went on for a long time, he was beaten on the head and tortured with a stun gun.

3/4 Tokhtar is the only breadwinner for his parents and he is seeking help from international organisations to protect his rights and to prevent the Kazakhstani authorities from ruining his life, as they did for many victims of the January events.

On 12 January 2022, he was arbitrarily detained in the street by #IZBASAROV Medet and #KANDIYEV Andrey in #Kobda village.
2/5 They took him to the gym on Zavodskaya street in #Aktobe town and locked him up for 12 days. On 19 January he was released early.
According to Alibek, the authorities sent 30 provocateurs to the city of Aktobe to discredit the peaceful rally.
3/5 They were the ones who went into the Akimat (local executive body) of Aktobe and destroyed everything there. And the people just stood in front of the Akimat demanding that the Akims (heads of local government) or deputies come out to them.
