Wen Evmos?

We’re upgrading the testnet with fixes for launch issues this week and taking the next 1-2 weeks to test thoroughly, giving partners time to test their deployments as well

If all goes well, mainnet will launch about a week after that; likely 2nd week of April

Will the chain reset or continue from the current block height?

The team is conducting data analysis to make an informed decision. We’ll be publishing a report with our findings, as we want the community to follow along with the decision-making process

Claiming

The official dashboard (gotrekt.com) will be ready at launch to help you with a smooth and easy claiming process. The team has also built in a recovery mechanism for users who accidentally locked their funds!

If you want to use a hardware wallet to claim EVMOS at launch, you’ll need to use Ledger + Metamask

Ledger + Keplr isn’t directly supported just yet (it’s in the works), but you’ll still be able to claim your tokens using the dashboard

The claims period will be EXTENDED and staking rewards will be temporarily disabled on day one so that everyone has time to claim without worrying about inflation. Staking rewards will be re-enabled later on to be fair to all, when stake is more evenly distributed

Also planned for launch:

The EVM will be enabled! You’ll be able to deploy smart contracts at release, interact with DeFi apps and NFTs, and more

You’ll also be able to perform IBC cross-chain transactions and recover your locked funds right away

Support for @osmosiszone deposits and withdrawals will be available on the Evmos dashboard within the first few weeks of launch, but not on day one

Bridges to Ethereum (like @nomadxyz_) are coming right away, and can do things like bringing over Ethereum assets which you can then use to buy $EVMOS through a DEX
