Dogras were Brave, Loyal and Patriotic. In this thread i will go back in history and give you few instances which will prove that #BraveDogras were #LoyalDogras and #PatrioticDogras . Some disgruntled communities have run an absurd campaign to malign #GloriousDograHistory

There were more than 23 principalities of Jammu ruled by smaller kingdoms. They were brave, religious and by an large protected the area despite being a divided lot. There were many in more than 3000 years history who have brought them under one power center. #BraveDogras

In 1808 Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army lead by Hukam Singh Chimni captured the Jammu city along with General Hari Singh Nalwa. At that time there was a conflict going on between the two kingdoms and Dogras lost the battle. Ranjit Singh thought now the road to Kashmir is open.

Young and Brave Gulab Singh joined Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Army. He was identified by Hukum Singh in the battle between the Dogras and the Sikhs. Gulab Singh grew ranks and was instrumental in various military campaigns in uniting the Misls of Punjab.

A strong force put forward by Miya Dido Jamwal from Jammu has blocked d Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s military campaign of Kashmir. As a result he had to install the local Dogra Maharaja Gulab Singh to handle Jammu Jagir. Gulab Singh again cane to rescue n neutralized Miya Dido Jamwal

#BraveDogra savior of Jammu Miya Dido Jamwal was neutralized by another #LoyalDogra Maharaja Gulab Singh to pave safe passage for Maharaja Ranjit Singh to Kashmir. Those who say Dogras are traitors must see the loyalty of a Dogras too. #GloriousDograHistory

Two brothers of Maharaja Gulab Singh were serving Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Dhyan Singh was given Poonch Jagir and Suchet Singh was given Ramnagar Jagir. Three Dogra brothers were grew influential in Lahore Durbar and Dhyan Singh served Prime Minister in Lahore Darbar. #BraveDogras

With the Death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1939, Sikh Kingdom started to topple. Dogra brothers were so influential in Lahore Darbar that rumors started spreading that #LoyalDogras want to grab power. In subsequent steps u will find the Loyalty of Dogra brothers for Lahore Durbar

Khadak Singh became the King and he was poisoned to death. Nau Nihal Singh while returning from the cremation of his father was crushed to death when a massive block of stone from a gate fell upon him. Udham Singh (nephew of Dhian Singh and son of Maharaja Gulab Singh also died.

Conspiracies were hatched to remove the #LoyalDogras who were protecting the Sikh Kingdom after the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh but they were cut short by those who wanted to grab power. Maharaja Gulab Singh lost his son and Sikh Kingdom lost 3 rulers in a short span of time.

Chand Kour , Mother of Nau Nihal Singh became d Empress of Sikh Empire assuming d title Malika Muqaddasa (immaculate queen). She was killed by poisoning her food on 11 June 1842. #LoyalDogras were standing by Lahore Darbar but those who wanted to grab power were on killing spree

Chand Kaur hoped that Nau Nihal's pregnant wife would give birth to a son and she was supported by the courtiers over Sher Singh(uncle of Nau Nihal Singh) who had claimed throne as a rightful heir. Chand Kour was supported by Dhyan Singh ( brother of Gulab Singh) #LoyalDogras

Sher Singh besieged Lahore with a 70,000-strong army when Nau Nihal Singh’s widow gave birth to a stillborn baby six months later. Chand Kaur agreed to acknowledge Sher Singh's claim to d throne in return for a generous settlement n safe passage. #LoyalDogras were protecting her

Sher Singh was crowned on 18 January 1841 n a few months later, on 11 June 1842, Chand Kaur's maids killed her by crushing her skull, just like her son had died. With this the decimation of Dogra brothers started in Lahore Durbar. #LoyalDogras

Raja Dhyan Singh, brother of Maharaja Gulab Singh (22 August 1796 – 15 September 1843) was the longest serving prime minister of d Sikh Empire, during the reign of Maharajah Ranjit Singh, n four of his successors. He held d office for 25 years. #GloriousDograHistory #LoyalDogras

Raja Dhyan Singh was murdered by Ajit Singh Sandhawalia who served as Prime Minister for Kharak Singh's widow Chand Kaur who served as regent. Ajit Singh Sandhawalia preferred having Chand Kaur as regent ruler as it allowed him more power. #DograBrothers #GloriousDograHistory

Sher Singh was also murdered by Ajit Singh Sandhawalia.Sandhawalias were thought to have also had designs on the empire. By now it is very clear that Dogras were Loyal to Lahore Darbar but a notorious campaign is run to malign d #GloriousDograHistory , #LoyalDogras n #BraveDogras

After the death of Ranjit Singh, Jind Kaur and her son lived in relative obscurity under the care of Raja Dhian Siṅgh at Jammu that was governed by his brother Gulab Singh. #DograBrothers were showing their Loyalty to Lahore Darbar by protecting the Royal Family. #LoyalDogras

Murders of Maharaja Sher Singh, his son Partap Singh and wazir Dhian Singh, Hira Singh Dogra, son of Dhian Singh, retaliated by killing the Sandhawalia Sardars who were responsible. Attar Singh Sandhawalia being the only survivor, and escaped to British territory. #BraveDogras

Initially Ranjit Singh’s exalted Farzabd-ae-Khas (Best Beloved son) Hira Singh Dogra was the favourite of the Army and others to be the next Maharaja mostly aided by the powerful army and senile love of Late Maharaja. Hira Singh Dogra rejected the preposition. #LoyalDogras

Hira Singh considered the words of his father Dhyan Singh and enthroned Six year old Daleep Singh who was well protected in #Jammu along with Rani Jind Kour. Hira Singh served the Lahore Darbar as a Wazir(Prime Minister) and Rani Jind Kour as a regent.

Wazir Hira Singh Dogra was influenced by a Kashmiri Pandit and his tutor Pandit Jalla who created rift in the Dogra Family. Suchet Singh , Brother of Raja Gulab Singh was very close to Jind Kour and she wanted to replace Wazir Hira Singh by Suchet Singh. #GloriousDograHistory

Pandit Jalla convinced Hira Singh Dogra that he will be killed. Hira Singh loved his uncle n wanted to meet him but Pandit stopped him. Jalla ordered army to kill which initially refused but then reluctantly went and Killed Suchet Singh , youngest of the three #DograBrothers

Raja Gulab Singh was agonized and perturbed on hearing d news of his youngest brothers demise. Pandit Jalla was successful in creating rift in the all powerful #DograFamily of Lahore Durbar. He persuaded Hira Singh not to attend funeral of his uncle Raja Suchet Singh #LoyalDogras

Pandit Jalla was successful in sowing the seeds of evil in #DograFamily. He persuaded Hira Singh to confiscate territory of Raja Gulab Singh’s servants and irked many other in the Kingdom. Rani Jind Kour also didn’t like the influence of Hira Singh. #BraveDogras #LoyalDogras

One day Pandit Jalla publicly disrespected the Maharaja and Rani Jind Kour. Rani Jind Kour and her brother Jawahar Singh wanted to get rid of #LoyalDogras but d troops wanted only Pandit to go. Hira Singhs mistake of not letting Pandit go resulted in disgruntled troops

Rani Jind Kour asked the troops to choose between Hira Singh Dogra or Rani Jind Kour and Child King. Troops choose their Queen and Hira Singh and Pandit Jalla were left with no choice but to flee. Sohan Singh , Son of Raja Gulab Singh was also with them. #GloriousDograHistory
