I'll be blogging the live court proceedings as best as I can.

This will be the last day (or possibly the second last day) of testimony.

The judge wants to give the case to the jury sometime on Wednesday Feb 7/24.

The day's proceedings have started, Eugene Wahl is testifying via a video tape deposition.

He has a divinity background and environmental science PhD since mid 1990s.

He's an ordained minister. His PhD dissertation was in paleoclimatology in SW California - temperature & precipitation for the last 12,000 years.
Eugene Wahl (co-author with Ammann's tree ring papers - alleged to verify Mann's hockeystick) was working with paleoclimatology with fossilized pollen in swamps and bogs.

His efforts were directed to identifying false negatives and false positives in proxy data.

I'll be live blogging of the trial rise

I am logged in for the live feed, just waiting for access.
I joined in the court proceedings in progress,

Dr Curry is on the stand discussing the IPCC AR3 and the change of tenor of the debate.

She recieved an email from Mann regarding McIntyre and McKittrick passing peer-review and told her to ignore their analysis.
Dr Curry is discussing her point of view about the impact on climate science when the hockeystick battle went public.

Dr Curry started that science should be open, honest, data available and not trashing of those that want to analyze the data.

Dr Curry was trying to be the one that could try to help calm the war.

Michael Mann's 2013 book about the hockeystick & climate war, flipped the table as he started labeling climate scientists as climate deniers.

Sept 2013, in a published HuffPost news article, Mann called Dr Curry a "serial climate disinformer" and it destroyed her career.

An aggressive email was sent to her university, the faculty, the students.

Mann branded Dr Curry was a cashed a climate denier, she was unable to seek other university positions.

Mann vs 🌍

The judge has just informed the jury that the submission regarding Mann's emails wrt M & M are to be taken and understood as fact.

Another Mann's email entered into evidence wrt destroying McIntyre, exposing him as a fraud to a colleague.

Another Mann's email (Santer, Schmidt) calling McIntyre "human filth" "asshole" entered into evidence

Mann says he's not in a position to determine Simberg as having any status in scientific research before the blog post was written, an unknown person in science circles.

Mann sent his intention to launch a lawsuit, in an email, to a large number of individual bloggers and scientists, after the reference to Sandusky was removed from the blog.

An update on the local EV bus.

The bus was first put into service in early November. It failed to charge on the second charge cycle (fuse)
The heat pump cracked (manufacturer used water not cold temp fluid) and pump was replaced this week.

Day 2 of in service was today

The charge dropped from 100% to 80% in 6 hours of non-use.

After 30 minutes of driving and waiting time (10kms) the charge dropped to 60%

The driver is heading for the fast charge station ($60 flat rate) so he can continue on his schedule

Today's EV update.

The electric bus was used this morning after a replacement heat pump installed by an independent vehicle repair shop yesterday.

The heat pump stopped working - in less 15 minutes of operation.

The EV bus is once again...

'out-of-service' (indefinitely)
