Every podcast, journal or book that I have read on health and upstream work boils down to these few steps. If u can get them right, u will be in great shape. A thread
1) Move. Though 10000 steps is just a number but a good goal to keep. This should be one keystone habit 2. Lift. Do strength training. Twice a week Four movements X 3-5 sets X 3-5 reps at 80% one rep max is good
3. Cardio - Not needed if u do 10000 steps but good to bring in for endurance and heart health. 4. HIIT once a week is good to improve anaerobic capacity 5. Sunlight - One of the most important thing that u can do for ur health is spending some time early in the morning
outdoors amidst nature 6. Protein- Make sure to get in 1.5-2gm protein per kg body weight. 7. Fibres - Aim to have 15 gms fibre per 1000 calorie. Half plate every meal preferably should be veggies.
8. Dietary fat is important for brain and hormone health. 9. Processed Sugar best avoided. 10. Fasting has its own advantage but u can do without it if u are managing ur calories. If u eat ur protein and fibre , u will not feel the hunger for rightly processed carbs
11. Don’t smoke. If u do, just stop 12. Sleep - 7-9 hours. Dark and cold room. Avoid heavy food 2-3 hours before slew. Shut off electronics 2 hours before. 12. Chew food. Eat mindful. 20-30 chews.
13. Breathe nasal. If u can’t, tape ur mouth but get into nasal breathing. Slow down breathing. 14. Supplement if need be. VitD, fish oil, protein, zinc, Mg etc are common deficient amongst Indians
15. Get blood markers done and supplement accordingly with help of your Doctor.
Get an accountability partner. Announce intent. You will rarely fail. #AdmireYourself

A classic study done in 70s where residents in a senior citizen home were divided into two groups - one group was given house plants to take care of. The second group had house plants but the staff cared instead of residents.
Researchers followed after 18 months. Residents who cared for house plants were healthier and more active. Residents who didn’t get the house plant duty died at twice the rate of the house plant giver.
As our parents grow old, we want to give them comfort and in the process take away from them all the activities they have been doing. This does more harm to their health though we do it thinking we are doing it for their good.
Building a business is hard. But once you build one, every thing after that is significantly easier. Some tips if u r looking to grow your business or become an entrepreneur. A thread
1 Network - Don’t miss an opportunity to network. Join the most expensive gym. Fly business class. Talk to the person in your adjoining seat. You just need one connection to get return multiple times.
2. Live in a community a bit expensive than u can afford 3. Tip the waiters and chef at hotel well and know them by names. When u take ur customers out there, this will pay back big
An attachment task inventory this week.
Brainstorm a quick list of people in your life.
Include animals
And, include yourself.
For each relationship, consider how strong, safe, and secure the attachment or connection is.
Strong: The bond is robust and nearly unbreakable. This relationship has “life” and vitality. You’re connected.
Safe: You feel validated, “seen”, and accepted as you are. You can be messy, real, and vulnerable, and won’t be criticized, judged, or rejected.
7 leadership lessons that I have learnt from Shri @narendramodi ji to be successful in every sphere of life. A thread
1. Learn how to use your competitor than your friends and allies - The way he has made pappu of the whole opposition is a great lesson to use negatives of your competitors. Crush your competition totally. Allies may ditch.
2. Always say less than necessary - Even if people made fun he choose not to do press conferences and speak at his own will. If you speak less even if u say. something banal, it will seem original. Powerful people impress by saying less
I think everyone should think about their death. It’s scary. Imagine your last 10 minutes of life. Will u have regrets? Will u have family around? What will people say about u when u r gone ?
When I was in my 20s, like most 20 year olds, I would think future is far away that u don’t think about your mortality. Suddenly you reach to 50 and u realise you have fewer days to live. If u r young try to live your life like everyday counts.
There is a Jewish saying - Live your life as if it’s your last day but have optimism that you will live forever. That’s the secret. To be excited but realistic. You may not be here tomorrow. Tell ur loved ones that you love them. Make the most of everyday.
Our tradition view of betting is gambling. All decisions are bets. A decision to invest in stocks is a bet. Decision not to invest in stocks is a bet. Decision to take a new job is a bet. Marriage is a bet. Sending child to particular school is a bet. Parenting choices are bets
Relocating is a bet. Everything is a bet. In most of the decisions, we are not betting against another person. Rather we are betting against the future version of ourselves that we are not choosing. Whatever choice we make today, we are betting against a potential future.
Our bets are only as good as our beliefs. What we believe about the world. The better we get in our skill to calibrate your beliefs , better the foundation of our bets. And our beliefs are mostly shaped by what we hear or read. Google search will surprise u that we r wrong with
