✈️ NOLA this evening. The #FinalFour is a great convention, but can be tough for a young coach that’s trying to meet new people. 10 years ago that was me and it was rough. Here are some suggestions from my experience, I hope it helps. (A thread)
Don’t be a polo watcher. It’s enough people looking at polo’s to decide if they want to speak or not. Don’t limit who you connect with based on level.
Attend the coaching clinics. They are valuable a lot of good coaches and it’s a good way to meet people by talking about what you learned at the clinic.
Look to connect with NO agendas. Business is about relationships, everyone can see a transactional one a mile away. Be intentional.
Have your portfolio, social media, contact information readily available at all times. Shows you are prepared and serious about your career.
Ask questions about non basketball, family life balance, lessons learned in the business, good and bad decisions. You will be surprised how much you can learn.
Hope this helps if you see me please speak love chopping it up and if you have players FIND ME 🤣
