Press Briefing by the visiting President

President @mohamedbazoum: I want to thank President Buhari for the hospitality & warm reception. I’m happy to be here for discussions on security &economic issues that are of mutual concern & benefit to our countries.

#AsoVillaToday 🇳🇬🇳🇪
Pres. Bazoum: My visit coincides with a major joint MNJTF operation in Lake Chad region against terrorists. As you know MNJTF operations are funded almost entirely by Nigeria. I want to reiterate my thanks to PMB whose support is ensuring this operation will be very successful.
President Bazoum: I must commend the efforts of the Zamfara Governor @Bellomatawalle1 in the fight against banditry in Northwestern Nigeria.
President Bazoum: One of the economic issues we discussed is the Kano-Katsina-Maradi Rail which will integrate the economies of Nigeria and Niger. I want to thank PMB for ensuring this project has taken off. It will radically enhance trade between our two countries.

In a presidential democracy like ours, there’ll really only ever be room for two (max three) MAIN parties. Of course there’s room for an unlimited number of parties, but the significant ones at any point in time won’t be more than 2 or 3.

Know this and know peace.
Good to see all the fringe party people gravitating back towards mainstream

Bob Dee joined PDP, Banky too has joined PDP. Eunice A in APC

Even Madam Oby decided to pitch her tent with APGA, the ruling party in Anambra

No point wasting time on what won’t make the slightest dent
If you think Nigeria’s large parties are dysfunctional, then you haven’t met the fringe ones lmao. They’re actually worse—because on top of everything, amateurishness

Remember what happened to the ‘PACT’ in 2018, how they scattered?

Remember what ACPN did to Madam Oby in 2018? ImageImageImage

Stop lying. Every dead company on this list died pre-2015.

In fact, ANAMMCO and PAN have come back to life since 2015, and Oshogbo Steel Mill pensioners have started receiving pensions denied them by PDP.

Not surprising you have the audacity to bring this nonsense here

PAN has been reborn as a JV between Dangote Group and Peugeot, their brand new factory in Kaduna has just been completed and started assembling cars this year 2022. Factory will be commissioned soon. dailytrust.com/as-dangote-peu…
ANAMMCO has been revived under PMB:

As of 2020, “Dangote Group has in the last five years invested over N63 billion in the South East with the purchase of over 3,500 units of locally assembled Shacman trucks at the production plant of ANAMMCO, Enugu.” premiumtimesng.com/business/37892…

Nigerian ‘analysts’ will take the cost of a road or railway & divide by length & jump to ridiculous conclusions. Without accounting for number of lanes/tracks, topography, compensation, accompanying infra (bridges), etc.

It’s a very illiterate thing to do. Stop it!

#Thread
Look at the Abuja-Kaduna Rail vs the Lagos Ibadan Rail, for example.

ABJKD = 186km of SINGLE track.

LAGIB = 158km of DOUBLE track = 158 X 2 for actual (main) track length = >300km.

Surely common sense should tell you to factor all these in before comparing relative costs?
Also, for example, its a given that, on ‘like for like’ basis, road projects in the swampy terrains of the Niger Delta tend to cost more than in drier terrain of the North.

Read Julius Berger’ notes about building the Bodo-Bonny Bridges/Road - “the most difficult of terrains…”
