Paul, pls be clear, gay people are already protected & gay conversion is already outlawed.

This is just about giving *good quality health care* to ppl who might or *might not* be trans.

@itvnews @StoatlyL @PaulBrandITV What is being fwd here is an argument for a *non biased* therapist to assess children, teens & adults who think might be trans to talk thru why that is.  What their feelings are stemming from. As therapists have always done
Eg
Are they exp discomfort in their gender? Body?

Are they gay & concerned about homophobia? Are a lot of their friends trans? Are they struggling with their looks & feeling unattractive?
Have they watched sig online content about trans?
Have they accidentally accessed pornographic

Are they being abused at home?

ALL of above are real cases of children & teens qning their gender. Only dysphoria should be treated as poss trans, rest are *not*

Dysphoria can be overcome, esp after puberty & can be dealt with without having to

Only genuine cases of extreme gender dysphoria should be assigned cross sex hormones *as adults* & *never* puberty blockers to children as they have sig effect on physical & psychological dev & esp bone density.

@itvnews @PaulBrandITV The trans £ market is lucrative & has captured many media, charities & businesses but welfare must come first & non judgemental therapy is essential, **not** the new & short-lived *error* of immediately confirming 'as trans' bec as u can see from above, *many* who qn if T are
